  • For some, firewood isn't just how they heat their home, it's a way to make some extra money for all their hard work. Today's video focuses on just that, providing an overview for those interested in selling firewood and making some extra cash on the side!
    We again teamed up with Jake from ‪@DudeRanchDIY‬, who not only is an arborist, but who also has started his own firewood selling business to go over tips and best practices to help give you some important information on many of the things to consider if you're considering selling firewood.
    Among the topics discussed: How to source your wood? Who's your target market? What's the key to a successful roadside firewood stand? Plus Jared and Jake talk gear, marketing, and of course, pricing!
    Many of these topics can be discussed on an even deeper level, and we'd love to hear in the comments which of these topics you'd like to see discussed further in future videos. Give us your feedback!

    What is the typical size to cut?

    Do you ever have a customer stack up their wood and discover that the 'cord' they bought stacks up to be less than a complete, 128 cubic feet? If so, what is your reaction and what do you do for them to make it right?

    Can the totes be purchased or are they homemade?

    • @RuggedMade
      @RuggedMade  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      IBC totes are repurposed containers that were originally designed to store and transport bulky liquids and dry ingredients. Firewood sellers remove the plastic container and use the metal cage to store split wood. Sometimes the top of the container is cut off and used as a cap to help keep the wood dry. Their availability depends on supply and demand in your area. A variety of AG places might give them away for free or sell them cheap. Check with any local companies that use them. Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace are sometimes good resources. There are a ton of TH-cam videos out there on this topic.

    Not everyone has that much wood to sell. What do u get for a chord?? A chord is 4x4x8.

    Most products are sold by wholesaling. What if you have a processor and want to wholesale? Under what conditions does wholesaling work for firewood? I don't mean bundles. I mean pallets on big trucks.

      I would assume if one wanted to do it commercially you would need access to unlimited wood. That's a pretty rare occurrence.

      Many sell wood.
      What do you mean?

    • @Colintheworldsgreatestplumber
      @Colintheworldsgreatestplumber หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jakebredthauer5100 I mean somewhere to harvest trees to make the firewood. You would need an unending supply of trees to cut down. Most people don't have access to that

      @@Colintheworldsgreatestplumber
      You are obviously wrong about needing an "unending supply". There is not an unending supply of anything. Some places have fewer trees than other places. Some places have an abundance of trees for firewood.

    It is not gear gear is something that you wear? Why didn’t you correct them when he’s talking about equipment as opposed to gear
