+CrazyMix23 I read the book first. The movie adds so much to the book! It just like changes half the story! Still, the movie was great. The only thing I wish they didn't change was that in the book Jonas is 12, in the movie he is 18.

It gave me goosebumps when he teaching about emotions while playing the piano to transitioning to the memory

I like how the giver says I'm not very good even though I had a very good teacher... That holds true with many things, a person who is very good at something got that way because of the person mentoring them and that person recognized something in you that you didnt know you had and pushed you to be better than them, even though you will never think you are, the world needs more of those people

You know a good song when it can make you smile, bring a tear to your eye, inspire you and just leave a whole mess of emotions inside you. This is one of those few songs that are like that (for me Atleast) from the first A to the final note. I'm currently learning it myself. A beautiful piece, this is.

I remember I read and saw the giver (book and movie) when I was in 5th grade now I'm in 7th grade so close go high school , proud I got that far, and I learned to play piano at near the beginning of this new year in 7th grade , I'm still learning since I don't know how to read sheet music that well yet , but I do know a couple of songs , so because I was playing my piano I just started playing random notes because I was bored and I wanted to see if someday I could make my own music with the piano , then I play the notes A , C, E in a specific pattern and it sounded so familiar, I stressed myself to remember were it came from, than I remembered this wonder story and the music , I quickly type in my tablet tutorials for this song and now I'm learning this beautiful piece with such great meaning , I decided I want to see this movie again I want to read the book again it's was just to good to be read/saw only once ,
    So now I'm here
2 years later and since I was in 5th grade I dreamed of someday playing this piece and that "someday" in today and tomorrow and beyond

Amazing how much music can provide such an outlet... music provides life with growth, heart, and positive energy, no matter what its about, listening to this song whils hes narrating, explaining how music has affected his life.... without my music, listening and playing, i dont know where i would be. im sure most can relate. use music as a life tool

I saw this when I was seven and at this moment, with all of what they had built up, I realized that life isn't all fun and games. This song made me feel things that I feel no where else. Now that I have a better understanding of the message that it was conveying, it hits hard. And even today, six years later, I still associate this song with everything that I feel. I also get very cuddly affectionate and tear up when I hear it.

One morning, as chill as any other day on its first hours, I wake and get up to watch some morning t.v. like any other weekend. I choose my fav channel to watch something, whatever the local t.v. allows with its budget. It shows me an already started movie. I decide to watch, since the lack of colors like those old movies catches my eye, as well as the high definition images that tells me this is no ordinary black and white old movie, but one with a deep message. The film had no title, so I had no idea on what or where to search or how to share what I just saw. Years later, this movie came back in my memory, so I just search with my only plausible clue: "The Giver". Found out the movie's title, where to watch and what it's based on.
This is the impact it had on me. Completely burned in my core memory.
