This Hymn is A Phoenician Maritime hymn from the times of the conquest of the meditteranean, you can feel the vibe of these courageous sailors crossing the unknown on cedar wood, to the world. These notes can be found in Venice, they say their ancestors got it from the Phoenicians , thousands of years ago !
Hope u don't mind me jumping in the discussion. This lovely song was actually the theme song of a televion series back in the 70s, so it is really Laure, the name of the heroine.
there is a turkish version of this lovely song from the 70s. if you want to listen to that song, write: Erol Buyukburc Yalan Gozler... i like both versions...
@shareef83 Actually "Laure" is a very common first name, in french, for a girl. And it's pronounced as "l'or" (gold). Here, I don't know arabic, (I'd like to, one day, for sure). I read a translation that put "Laure" as a name in this song. I think it may truly mean "you girl, Laure", arabic and french have a strong cultural bond, after all. And for the better, now, I hope so.

Ya Laure Hubbuki (يا لور حبك)

Translation in English
Oh Laura, Your love has tormented my heart
And I had given you my love and affection
Don't you recall our wonderful nights together
And the pledge we made to be true to each other?
The night, the breeze and the wailing nightingale
And the veil of melodies, as my heart loved you
So many dreams of love and purity blossomed
In them, days seemed like slumber
The night, the dreams and the wet shore
Longing, song, and the calm countryside
Those were such fine days, so wonderful and pure
When the melodies sang of loyalty and devotion
This is a lebanese song, beautifully presented by Natacha
She is a Goddess 💘
I know this song from Fairuz, but I also love Natacha's version. I don't know the words but the music speaks for itself.
The intro with the piano definitely reminded me of Fairuz, my mother's all-time favorite.
