Gerald and Salvador are in my eyes boxing’s biggest cases for “greatest that never were”. Due to the unfortunate circumstances, we didn’t get to see their full potential be realized. Great vid as always!
Some other examples of boxers who we quite never saw the full potential:
Edwin Valero (hanged himself at the peak of his career)
Laszlo Papp (was forced to retire and couldn't fight for the world title)
George Benton (got shot and had to retire from boxing)
Another one was maybe Pirog. Didn't have as many fights at top level as mentioned above but looked very good
@@VexLLBBX Don't forget Rubin Hurricane Carter who was sent to prison during the middle of his career for a crime he didn't commit
His Right hand. His Left hook. His Hook to the Body. His Reach. Kronx boxing style. Just awful what happened in the Nigel fight..... I was afraid to even spar after watching that . God bless him health still....
Look at how he sets up everything off his Jab. He was so effective with his left hand
It horrible what happened to him. So many fights he missed. Guy really could have changed the outcome of a lot of fighters career paths. Roy, Toney, Nunn, ect. With his frame there is no doubt he would have been at light heavyweight at some point. Sad. Guy had that special power.
Hes up there as one of the most dangerous fighters Ive ever seen
@@connorbegley2539he woudlve destroyed GGG but I doubt he knocks GGG out, maybe drop or via stoppage from unanswered punches but I doubt it
At the time I think he held the record for fastest middleweight title defense ever. Destructive body puncher.
He didn’t have the most varied attack pattern but it was effective.
I believe that was the KO against 17-1 Jay Bell, which is also the fastest body shot KO ever
Im from Liverpool and Benn is one of our countrys best fighters but I genuinely think McClellan would have smoked him if he was 100% healthy when they fought because it was obvious there was something wrong with him during the build up
Yeah. McClellan was sparring with concussions before the Ben fight. Sparring had to be stopped several times due to blinding headaches. They shouldn’t have allowed that.
You are a real one. Pretty much every brit I've seen comment about mcclellan vs been talk as if Benn beat the piss out of mcclellan, as if Mclellan wasn't ahead on the scorecards while suffering from a traumatic brain injury
One of the saddest fates in boxing 😥Amazing fighter in his prime
My favourite boxer we have the same birthday. Weight class and boxing style
Very nice. There are a lot of highlights of Gerald McClellan on TH-cam at this point, but this one stands out, as most Hanzagod highlights do. This isn't just the same old same with some aggressive rock or rap music in the background. This is thoughtful art in my opinion.
Yooo hanzaGod, excellent choice in Mobb Deep, that's exactly who i think of when I think Gerald McClellan, this video and the routes to the body, Survival of the fittest.
The second song is the start of the ending, both from the 95 infamous album
Gerald McClellan was such a great boxer and tremendous puncher and got such amazing leverage on his punches, such a shame we didn’t get to c more from his career and how it panned out but what we did c of him we saw a technically sound and unbelievable punching boxer
The G-Man was indeed at his devastating best despite having a short career due to his tragic injury against Nigel Benn. Had he fought healthy, he would have a money fight with Roy Jones Jr., Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, Chris Eubank and Joe Calzaghe just to name several. Keep it up.
This is my favorite boxer. That fight with benn man ... Wow. That one and vargas vs Trinidad are some of the best fights ive ever seen
Beast
Great video as always!
Benn was definitely on something
I wouldn’t be surprised. You gotta be on something to take that kinda beating n still win.
Thank you haznagod, watched Gerald’s routes to the body on repeat.
Having mobb deep on his highlights perfectly encapsulates the feeling McClellan gave. Thank you!!
You’ve most likely got a busy schedule so this might me a long shot, but do you have anything of Angel Espinosa in the works? A killer of a boxer, fairly unknown to casuals, but was a complete wrecking ball in the 90s.
Thanks bud glad you like it! I'll check out some footage of Espinosa over the next few days and see if it's enough to work with.
Gerald is one of boxing hardest punchers p4p in the history of the sport. It’s a shame on what happened in that Nigel Benn. Man I can’t stand that POS Don King
@@vince11harris Yeah, I’m British and l wanted Benn to win against the odds but not by throwing blatant rabbit punches that the referee let go unpunished.
@@mickg7299it’s a shame what happened but it seems that Nigel definitely seems like he regrets what happens albeit, I don’t think it’s all his fault. Apparently Gerald suffered a really bad concussion during the Julian Jackson fights but he never got it checked out
Yes sir, infamous indeed. Great Highlights ❗️👏👍👍
Great highlight Hanza !! hey, could you make one of Fernando Martinez? the guy who defeated Jerwin Ancajas and now defeated Kazuto Ioka???
Thanks bud that's definitely added to the list after that great performance for sure.
If I had a nickel for every time Hanzagod used Mobb Deep music for a Gerald McClellan highlight I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice
I firmly believe that it was Julian Jackson who caused his brain damage. He hit the G-Man with absolute bombs to the head for 5 rounds. After their first fight, G-Man had regular strong headaches, ocasional blurred vision, and dizziness. He won against Jackson, but completely lost his health. Very sad.
It's certainly possible but it also could have been a number of blows taken in sparring or in other fights. We'll just never know.
@@hanzagod Yeah that could be possible too. In my honest opinion, after having all of those symptoms, G-Man should've had a brain scan and retired from boxing in 1993. Nobody took care of him.
So all these symotoms were going on yet he was cleared to fight Jackson again a year later, and destroyed him (1 round) Then fought Gilbert Baptist, demolished him too. Here's a thought, maybe that unbelievably brutal 10 round war with Nigel Benn had something to do with G-Man's brain injury. 🤦♂️
The G-Man 🔥 🔥🔥!!!!!! This dude had nuclear warheads for hands, and insane durability. Had his career not been cut short, he would of beaten many of the top leveled super middleweights.
Another great upload! Must watch vid! 👊
Sad to see what happened to the man as he had great potential and pretty much nobody should have to suffer the types of afflictions he has. This is a dangerous but beautiful sport! 🥊
He straight up cold and sharp with it tho
Crazy to see Julian Jackson and Nigel Benn getting pounded when they were usually the ones knocking people tf out.
He had big talent an tragic early ending of career, but he wasn't good man
Ferocious power in both hands. Had the natural punch power to move up the weight divisions if fate would've been different for him 🥊🥊🥊🥊
Great power, and even greater body blows! Such a shame his career was cut as short as it was.
Gerald my favorite kind of boxer, slick, crisp, and powerful with BOTH hands
Imagine what he would've done with todays fighters. He'd shred them.
Imo greatest ever. My favorite boxer. Ty for the reel

They fought in the amateurs but sadly we never got the rematch in the pros
Thats my boy the g- man
If this man would’ve stayed at kronk with Emanuel steward..I think he could’ve beaten every middleweight in the 90s didn’t lack anything as a boxer
@@OldSchoolStrength true but I’d say he lacked the urge to use it ….he was way to aggressive for his own good and he had an iron chin so he knew he could eat a shot to land 1

Fallen Warrior The G-Man he was a beast
haNZAgod P4P.
Another gem
But just a quick question,
Whats the meaning behind "haNZAgod"?
Nothing in particular it’s just a name that I used on some games back in the day. Used to play a lot of Counter Strike haha
Excellent highlights review
Could we possibly see highlights of Fernando Vargas and of Jorge Linares in the near future 🙌🏻🙌🏻👌🏻??
I have a Linares highlight already and unfortunately my Vargas video was taken down a couple years ago, my channel received a copyright strike because of it.
Someone did upload it on another website in quite poor quality if you want to watch it though: ok.ru/video/1350208326173
I noticed you always choose mobb deep for the g man, not complaining though haha
Gran boxeador uno de mejores boxeadores de los 90 y uno de los pegadores mas tremendos de todos los tiempos
One of the meanest boxers alive, have no idea how he fought with a blood clot against Benn
Danger danger man
My god. Needle threading accuracy meets power. I don't think there was a guard he couldn't penetrate. You gotta keep moving to have a chance against a fighter like this. To remain stationary is a lethal mistake.😬
yea pernell whitaker shouder roll is better and pernell whitaker has a move to kill the shouder roll and Philly Shell it the stop and go Strike Execution:
Feint and Setup:
Begin by feinting a jab or series of quick, probing punches to gauge your opponent's reactions.
Use subtle footwork adjustments to create the illusion of predictable patterns.Angular Approach:
As your opponent adjusts their guard to counter your initial feints, quickly shift your stance and angle of attack.
Utilize lateral movement to position yourself slightly off-center from your opponent's line of vision.
Execution of the "Serpentine Strike":
Initiate the strike with a rapid, curving motion. This can be a lead hook or uppercut aimed at the exposed side of the opponent's body.
The key is to execute the strike from an unexpected angle, bypassing their guarded position.Follow-Up Maneuvers:
Immediately after landing the "Serpentine Strike," transition fluidly into a combination that exploits the opening created by the initial strike.
Maintain dynamic footwork to adjust your positioning and continue pressing the attack from advantageous angles.

What I want to know is who are the two fighters that made it to a decision vs him? How did they do it and is their a video of it anywhere online?
You mean the 2 fighters that won via decision against him? There’s no footage online of those fights unfortunately.
@@hanzagod Yes AND won the decision thats right. They must have had iron chins, size and a defensive mindset
Both men were stopped multiple times after they beat McClellan. Dennis Milton was stopped by Julian Jackson in the 1st round. It is important to note that both fights were very close with McClellan though, the decisions could've gone to him.
Mcclellan had Amazing offense and hit like a truck but he wasn't so good on the defensive side

One of the most destructive punchers in boxing history! The G Man was a ferocious fighter who was trained by the late great Emanuel Steward for a large portion of his career. McClellan was infamous for his aggressive style, 1 punch knockout power in either hand and his lethal left hook to the body. The untimely end of his boxing career was tragic but in his prime he was an absolute force to be reckoned with. The G Man at his devastating best! www.patreon.com/haNZAgod
Should’ve stuck with Emanuel, but he didn’t like to train. Emanuel ditched Moorer to concentrate on him full time.
@@JustinG1978it was because of Don King.

Don king is a donkey , had Benn signed or ready to after the fight . Depending who was victorious he'd stick with. While mcclellan was backstage he was still out in front cutting deals . Nearly every boxer has something bad to say about him. As gerald goes one of my favourite boxers . Lethal with them hands , tko'd the biggest puncher in the division twice. Had Benn out of there in the first only for the ref's incompetence. He complained of headaches after the first Jackson fight. Don king called him the mini mike tyson, more like Tommy hearnes.
