    I was very unclear on how I managed to "transfer" universities. Literally all I did was leave the university I was initially studying at and reapplied through UCAS to multiple universities and I chose KCL. The only reason why I could do this is because I had already achieved the necessary GCSE and A-level grades needed to go to kcl; which is AAB and 6 9-5 GCSE maths and English grade B. The process of actually transferring universities is much different as it requires you to fully complete your first year and transfer your credits to your new university. However, for anyone choosing to study pharmacy at university you cannot transfer universities you will have to start from first year. If you plan on studying pharmacy and you know that you do not want to stay at the university you attend the best thing for you to do is complete a foundation year in pharmacy and then transfer from there.

    Hey there! Im a newly qualified Pharmacist (passed with flying colours of the 'dreaded' pre reg exam) - i find it very refreshing to see your content, i studied at Kingston University and literally all the modules you showed i.e. science of drugs, role of a pharmacist etc were all the same as mine. And yes you are correct it is mainly 'community based' topics you will be learning a lot i.e. smoking cessation, weight management etc because those are the services we pharmacists in community have to do as we have more time for that, albiet some hospitals may do the same as well! But, keep working hard as you are already, be absolutely great !! :) any questions feel free to ask if you have any! x

      @@12Gavv ofccc its a very valis I have high expectations of my time at university - socially to be more specific. The social scene at kingston really didnt fit me and theres been some issues with my year..... and teaching wise (maybe its online school) + organisation is quite poor with some modules having really really bad schedule pages or not having schedule pages at all. And i also think that the communication between teachers and students is really really bad. My experience as a whole hasn’t been awful but its been bad enough for me to leave

    Whats wrong with the pharmacy degree is that there is no clinical pharmacy placements, rather than just learning from a textbook.

    • @phedradee
      @phedradee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is nothing “wrong” with the pharmacy degree. If you are expecting pharmacy to be similar or the same to medicine, dentistry or nursing then you really dont understand the degree yet. Pharmacy degree is a science AND clinical degree that includes medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry, physical chemistry, pharmacology, biochemistry and pharmaceutics. And then clinical side is when we get placements which I mentioned in the video. And not at one point in this video did I use a textbook 😂

    • @dstar4755
      @dstar4755 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@phedradee I do understand the pharmacy degree, majority become a community/hospital/primary care pharmacist. Alot of what you are taught is not needed in practice. The best way to learn is by experience. Especially when pharmacists are needed to be more clinical these days which means giving better patient/healthcare staff advice and care. You will never be asked scientific questions in community/hospital.

    • @phedradee
      @phedradee  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      U don’t understand the degree or the profession 😂.A pharmacist is a medicines expert. So therefore the science behind medicines is very important to learn. If u enter the profession with surface knowledge your are going to struggle.
      I have a class/modules dedicated to pharmacy practice and i had 40 hour placements in community and hospital.
      However because of how versatile the degree is I have the ability to go into research.

    • @dstar4755
      @dstar4755 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@phedradee if you enter the profession with surface clinical knowledge you will struggle. Pharmacists r required to provide more clinical services. Its ok knowing the science behind medicines but if you cant apply it to the real world what is the point. You can get into research with alot of degrees.
