So the fans of the fanfic found this song that had the same name AND it was also vaguely about love. So you can expect how they'd react. I feel bad for the author since I don't think they ever wanted this to happen.
So here is how it all started for me: I watch dream and George’s videos “oh cool, I like these” I get compilations in my recommended “haha, I ship it” I see animatics “Maybe my shipping obsession is getting worse” I now listen to glass animals “good music” I listen to heat waves “Wait- there’s a fanfic?” I read heat waves and listen to heat waves daily “help” “I burn you, you melt me”
day 35 of listening to nothing but heat waves: i cant remember my name identity crisis is getting worse rereading the fanfic 5 times a day listening to heat waves edits on youtube came out to my mum imagining myself in a different reality
Hour 18 of listening to Heat Waves, my brain rot has gotten much worse and I ended up on TH-cam listening to rain and muffled edits of Heat Waves Bit of a late update bc I forgot about this: I listened to heat waves for 74 hours before listening to a different song, and I thought it would help me get over chapter 8. It did not, it actually made it so much worse, and I actually cried to this version at least 3 times because of the book TwT

Honestly, I’m so into the fic but I’ve stopped seeing them as George and Dream and more of they’re own separate people which I find weird. Like, I’d visual and read trying to hear them saying the lines and I heard completely different voices. The writing is great though

There’s about 2000 hours of content if you want to catch everything, but honestly the best way to approach it would be to watch the 13 hours of Wilburs POV, then watch Tommy’s Exile playlist, and all of Technoblades streams. That will get you caught up on the main plot
i've been a fan of glass animals for a long while, probably since 2016 - i'm glad that they're getting more recognition now, i just wish mcyt fans would chill out about bringing up the fic all the time. i hope when the fic ends, the comments ab it die down, and people start appreciating the music itself. i say that as an mcyt fan who has read the fic lol.. but aside from that the lyrics hit SO HARD man.."now I gotta let you go / You'll be better off in someone new / I don't wanna be alone / You know it hurts me too" i felt that. letting go of relationships hurts, even when it's better for the both of you

Heres me trying to explain the way this song makes me feel: i heard about this song and the rest of glass animals through dnf( don't kill me i was just interested in why this song was associated with dnf) anyways i checked out the rest of their songs and now they are my favourite band. But its just something about this song. Just everything about it. it always stuck with me. The lyrics are incredible they really mean alot to me they connect you to them you can almost feel it.
