I got know Rolf a little, whilst I studied at Hilc, and let me say, RWF is the most humble man I ever met. I am still in disbelief about it. So blessed you can not believe. He's not just a drummer for HS, what a lot of people do not realise is that his main title there is "Music Pastor Worship & Creative Arts" which means he pastors the musicians that play at HS, as he did me when I was blessed enough to play at Hilsong St Mary's. 1 of the most encouraging guys I know! God Bless you all. JW
Rolf man nice job, keep praising and never let ur pride get in the way, it happens to all of us, Hillsong is such a huge blessing, and i Love it how you guys say "we dont play for the album recordings or lightings" thats the way humbled before him take care Rolf God bless and Happy Thanksgiving
I have done a LOT of research on this kit (natural wood finishes are my fetish if you will) and everything seems to suggest that it's a Pearl masters kit. I seem to remember asking Rolf at one point and he said that it was a pearl masters. May just be my imagination, but either way, Gretsch badges are more square shaped, whereas the pearl badges where usually rectangular in nature. Google search Pearl Masters kit natural finish, look at the images and you should be able to find a similar kit.
just practice it, i play this at my church, just like Rolf. its really just a fil that takes up 1 measure, a full 1 2 3 4 ending on the 1 of the next measure, with a few fast hits taking up the 1 - 2 and counts. idk if that makes sense, just practice. listen and keep doing that one part over and over again
@NickDrummist He uses thin sticks (7A's), as well as brushes, for smaller rooms or practices such as this video. But for the actually Sunday worships, probably those big azz 5B or 7B... and that's a big hall Hillsong has.
Great display of controled drumming. Can you please tell me what kind of Ride that is. I think I can make out it's a A Custom, but what type?. Thanks in advance..
