    This guitar solo always makes me cry. It takes me back to those bittersweet memories of young love that you thought would never end, and summers of our youth when everything felt possible. I share this song with others and they don’t seem to feel what I feel. I wish I give them one ounce of what this gives me. I’m 34 now and so happy with how life has evolved. But music is a Time Machine and gives a brief glimpse into the people we once were. One of the most beautiful things my ears have ever heard. ❤️

      A year later and these guys have withstood all the greta van fleets and lizard wizards and all the new age rock. Their music is timeless, and every album and track is consistent. They are next level musicians, not riding the wave of youth and splendor like the younger generation of rockers. Adam is the next Springsteen. But better.

    I'm super lucky to have played in some really decent bands. I know what it's like when you get that coming together moment in a band where you're all firing on all cylinders and it just blends perfectly. There's no feeling like it. It's pure magic. But I've never been in a band that has that connection every single time they play like this lot do. I can only imagine how it must feel for those 6 guys every time they play together. They're truly phenomenal.

      You said it exactly... When I watch them it's incredible how in sync they are, yet so clearly performing to the max individually - even an average person is left realizing that something extraordinary - almost spiritual - is going on- I can't get enough

    I was sailin' down here on the wind
    When I met you and I fell away again
    Like a train in reverse down a dark road
    Carrying the whole load
    Just rattling the whole way home
    Have you fixed your eyes to the wind?
    Will you let it pull you in again on the way back in?
    I'm a bit run down here at the moment
    Let me think about it, babe
    Let me hold you
    There's a cold wind blowing down my old road
    Down the back streets where the pines grow
    As the river splits the undertows
    But I'd be lying to myself if I said I didn't mind
    Leave it hanging on the line
    Lost inside my head
    Is this the way I'll be denied, again?
    So I'll set my eyes to the wind
    But it won't be easy to leave it all again
    Just a bit rundown here on the sea
    There's just a stranger living in me
    As you set your eyes to the wind
    And you see me pull away again
    Haven't lost it on a friend
    I'm just bit run down here at the moment
    Yeah, I'm all alone here, living in darkness

    My dad turned me on to this band years ago with the lost in a dream album. I didn't immediately dig it but after I'm not sure how many listens. Not many more at all, i found out what a master piece that it was. Lost in a dream and a deeper understanding are a couple of the best albums ever made. Too bad both my vinyl copies of Lost in a dream are shit. Thank God for the CD!!!! I have seen them twice live and I hope that the last time was not my last.

    imho all great art comes from a dark place and the album Lost In The Dream is a great example. The musicianship is stella of course but its the dark optimism and resignation of it lyrics that pulls me in. Its a modern classic that's for sure.

    Bobby Dylan in this 💯 FANTASTIC! BELLISSIMA!

  • @beddybomb
    @beddybomb 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Wish he would sing it with the same melody of the album. Having said that, I love the instrumental variations from the album, especially beginning around 4.01 with the solo guitar and the sax coming in hard at 4.30. Frustrating that he is doing an Adam (like my other idol Adam Duritz of coutingcrows) and by that I mean experimenting with the melody and intonation of the vocals, which distracts more than anything.

    • @pedroceniceros8139
      @pedroceniceros8139 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Jon Bedford I agree, the only song that surpasses the album version is dissapering on KCRW sessions, I would like all the songs live reached that level, "eyes to the wind is beautiful", but still with that epic sax solo this version owe us vocally

    • @djackski7012
      @djackski7012 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its exactly what one of his major influences, dylan, always has done
      Some are distracted but others love it, provided it's still tuneful, which i think he is.

    • @helenesuss4606
      @helenesuss4606 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love this version, and I don't find it distracting at all, quite the contrary. I love their guitar-playing, especially Adam's solo guitar- playing, keyboards, drums, and I love that saxophone! I love these guys; I love this band! I find it interesting to improv and not always play the same and duplicate the recorded version.
