Today, Logic Pro X 10.2 released with a bang! The biggest announcement with the update is the release of Logics' new software synth instrument, Alchemy. Alchemy is part of Apples acquisition of Camel Audio last year. Now Alchemy is back and ready for action!

I posted another question on your older video about setting MIDI controls from Maschine to Logic Pro X. For setting Record, and play is that only done in Logic or can it be done in Maschine Controller Editor? Also, is there a setting to scroll or select other sounds? Like a up or down direction? Or left and right?

I downloaded full content of alchemy however the presets are not showing up ?? Any way to fix!?
hi. the list of sounds like, category, subcategory and user tags have disappeared. the sounds are there but the txt has gone that says what sound it is. any ideas to help ?

How do you get your logic pro X GUI to look so HD and small?! Mine looks clunky compared to yours and you seem to have soo much more screen real estate??

+Nick Searle prolly the resolution of your monitor. my 27" imac 2560 x 1440 has a higher resolution than my 27" 2nd monitor 1920 x 1080 so the windows on my iMac are always crisper and clearer. hope that helps.

Is Alchemy a CPU hog on Mac? I'm asking since I'm thinking to get Logic for my Mac Mini.
you dont need a good CPU im using a 2013 macbook and can stack 147 alchemy tracks and play midi regions sooo yeah :)
Ugh, I forgot to download the additional content. I didn't really have time to play with it anyways. I hope that doesn't complicate my alias folders I set up so I can keep things stored on a separate harddrive.
+louderthangod everything should ok. Defintely download the additional content. This way you get everything it has to offer as it is a sample based synth.
Hi All.....quesiton for you all. I bought Camel Alchemy about 3 years ago and a bunch of "packs" like artificial intelligence, Biolabs, Light Space, etc. Does that all now come included in Apple's Alchemy? I have both Camel Alchemy and logic Pro X on my laptop right now. I'd like to uninstall Camel Alchemy if it's just a duplicate now... Please help...

What's up man, curious if you think it is safe to upgrade to Yosemite at this point ...I am still hesitant on upgrading my OS from 10.8.5 , but I really want the new logic! Wondering if it is a safe move at this point or if it is more of a risk to my system than not...any advice helps .thanks
+Dharma Child - I updated to Yosemite this week from Mavericks... I like it. I found a "Speed up your Yosemite" tutorial to disable all the new CPU heavy elements to it. Other than that, it works a dream, no bugs etc... As a matter of course, once I install a new OS, I always check my other programs to see if they need to be updated but haven't had any issues.
+Andrew Jarrett well that sounds nice. Did you do multiple back ups to a hard drive before initiating the update?
+Andrew Jarrett I guess what I'm asking is , if all else fails and the upgrade isn't running smoothly etc..., I can reboot my old OS from the save onto the hardware and be operating back to what I had before with no problem?
I use Time Machine every few weeks. I keep all my project files on a separate drive though. I did restore from a Time Machine back up once and it took a long time and some plugins needed the activation codes put in again. Apparently SuperDuper! or CarbonCopy are better at this.
To elaborate, SuperDuper! and CarbonCopy make clones of the drive so if you do revert after a new OS, it will return everything back to exactly as it was. Good luck.

+Joey Pereira Within the Alchemy plugin - go to File and click Refresh Library. That should bring in everything that was downloaded.
+imamusicmogul Hey thanks did try that heres the message I get...: A preset scan already appears to be running in another instance of Alchemy. Do you wish to proceed? Please only continue if you are certain that another scan is not running....Appreciate ur expertise....
+Joey Pereira i checked all other projects for open instances...but there were none..I think the plug in is corrupted...been refreshing presets since I downloaded on first day of release...need to delete update and reinstall I think but do not know how to clear out update sp apple store sees no plug in installed..any ideas would be great...thought that the 3000 presets would take a while to be scanned but this is too long...would appreciate your logic from 1 engineer to another..tu..Joey...

Does this synth have retina graphics for y'all? On my retina MacBook Pro, the UI for this synth is very pixelated.
+Snitzmusic definitely doesn't seem to be retina on my end either. looks like they forgot to add the Retina assets. Some of the app looks ok but the text and some other things definitely don't have the retina assets.
+imamusicmogul what a shame considering the massive design improvement from the previous version. Guess we should just be grateful that this was a free upgrade considering
how much it cost before apple bought it.

when i open my alchemy synth, my search on the alchemy itself isnt present. why does this happen?

i am, the right search column never has any results when i search or when i choose different search parameters.
One simple thing I would like to see is an option to have larger, freakin meters !#@! :) This may already be possible, but my buddy has had this with Cubase for ages. I know you can zoom the screen, but is there a better way to display larger levels/metering?
+Wrekking Cru unfortunately at the moment there isn't a way to make them big. You can hit command + 2 and get the mixer on a separate window.
the actual Alchemy fun BEGINS if you have the free Logic Remote app on iPad.

what type of setup do you have
+TREZELL LORENZO I'm mainly an electronic producer so I have a couple keyboard controllers, a proper A/D Apogee converter. A couple nice vocal mic's. I pretty much work inside the box and just stem out track to console for final rundown and bounce.

Unfortunately, yes it is. Very good upgrade though but it bugs me that only people with main stage and Logic Pro can only use it!

+wolvmusic Apple acquired Camel Audio so I don't believe they will ever release Alchemy for other platforms. It will only be available for MainStage and Logic. But you can always use MainStage or Logic to ReWire into the DAW of your choice.
+wolvmusic You could probably still find torrents for the older version that is on Windows.
