Absolutely enchanting, immersive, emotional and spellbinding trilogy. The story is presented in such an abstract manner yet its progression and meaning are both just so vivid and fascinating. A tragic theme that overarches over three individual masterpieces with their own tone and amazing story.
I remember that, at first, I didn't really like the sound of Cassandra Kay's voice instead of Laura Brehm's for Valkyrie II, but I eventually grew to love and accept it as much as Laura's voice. Such a wonderful trilogy~ oh, and btw, Varien (technically) made another 10+ minute song

This trilogy had me shedding a couple tears by the end of the third song. The third part is the best of all three. Laura's vocals were, simply put, breathtaking. One of the most important parts of music, and art in general, is the ability to tell a story without needing to actually SAY it. This is something that EDM as a whole has struggled with, but Varien has found a way. Not only did he tell a story, but the story itself is just...wow. Bravo Varien, I first heard this song years ago, but only now do i truly understand its importance.

So um... a few months before the original Valkyrie was posted, I began writing a show where the main character is named Valkyrie. And when the original came out, I always heard that piece when thinking about her, because I felt it fit her character perfectly. And what's been even stranger to me is that each piece actually represents her character growth in each season to me *extremely* well. Like, 99% perfect. Varien, you have inspired me in astounding ways in my own art, and for that, I thank you so much, and honestly, thank you for, weird as it sounds, joining me on the ride, hell, driving the car with me. You are an amazing artist, and I hope to become even half of your equivalent in my art.
As someone who went from electronic music to mainly metal varien was one of the only artists i consider great from a composing standpoint, and this is a perfect example of it

This reminds me so much of my book if part two was sung by a male. It’s about an angel who has to sacrifice herself for humanity to survive and her soulmate a human. She fights so hard she begins to lose sight of of brilliant self becoming nothing but a warrior. But his call drives her on, he is her sanctuary and all he wishes for her is part three of this. He is determined and brilliant like part two. Ugh love this so much!!
Just make lots of playlist and I suggest writing like with pen and paper-an organized list of music-and taking pictures and emailing them to your emails as well. I even have my favorite albums tatted on me incase I memento myself
This Trilogy reminds me of Dota: Dragons Blood off of Netflix. Shit was so emotional, I still tear up from listening to this mix 7 years later. I don't know who else Varien could've gotten to sing these songs, but I'm glad they got the two singers that made this trilogy so beautiful.
I believe the song is about temptation slipping inside you, and losing the power you have because you would be listening to the temptation instead of yourself, and regretting that you listened to the darkness instead of the light of God, and vowing to follow his light and be rid of your sins. The flowers blooming in the darkness are sins that people seem to choose, unaware that they are bad, and because they committed them, their gift (power) is lost as long as they continue committing them, but our angels are still protecting us, no matter how far we stray, they will be there when in need. When you were young, you didnt know all that life could bring, so you wondered about the different things you could be, and found something, but that something wasnt good to follow, now you are unsure about yourself, and where you stand among God if he is fine with what you have done. Regretting what you did, you vow to yourself that you will bring your power (Valkyrie) back, and will not falter, no matter what happens to you. Every good thing your Valkyrie has done for you fills your mind, and you realize that is what you truly want, thus making you determined to bring them back and be free of the sins you have committed. They are your key into heaven and you realized it, now you are on your way to reclaim your spot back inside, no longer corrupted (regaining your sanity). And when you finally reach your goal, you are uncertain for a moment if you deserve it, but you understand and realize that you do, and give your worries to God. Your angel speaks to you, but you are uncertain where you must go next, so she shows you, but you are unsure about it. When the path you used to take was forgiven, you accept what you must do, thus granting you the eternal life promised to everyone. You look back on your life and wonder how long ago you suffered the pain of your sins, you would defend them to the point of war, now you roam earth with your purpose and filled with faith that no one can be rid of, free of your past. You have finally found your purpose, and will fulfill it with the gifts you were given. Edit: don’t know if I got that part, but where it says “there’s a voice that is calling for me to go beyond”, it’s your angel telling you to better yourself, and allow yourself to go beyond and reach your gifts you have if you reach out for them. I hope this was a good interpretation

Varien, you are one of the most, if not the most, talented artists I've ever listened to. Fantastically recorded trilogy made by someone I'd love to share knowledge with. Have a good one mate, Sean.
Part 1. I could just imagine a music video for this 3 part epic, starting off on a battlefield shrouded in smoke an epic battle taking place, a heroic soldier fighting for his life only to be slain. Then out of the smoke and mist comes a figure in white...A Valkyrie coming to take him home to Valhalla. Only this time she chooses someone else (End of Part 1) Part 2. Starts with our fallen warrior loosing hope of a magnificent death, then a second Valkyrie to come out of the mist and reach down to him and guide him to his rightful place at Odin's table in the halls of Valhalla...But when the Valkyrie has to return to the battlefield our warrior begins to feel an emptiness inside that only his Valkyrie could fill, thus he waits patiently in the halls of Odin for his love to return (End of Part 2) Part 3. Whilst our warrior waits for his Valkyrie to return, he has a revelation and begins to walk the halls of Valhalla. In essence he seeks to atone for all his wrong doing. (I don't really know where to go from there as i'm not sure if I completely understand the lyrics, but i think the protagonist is essentially been reborn to walk the earth and do good instead of killing)
The first person is the Valkyrie, while the third person is someone else who wants the Valkyrie, I guess. I think the song is about a person's past. The first talks about the innocence the composer had as a child (includes dreams and stuff like not fearing death). The second talks about the way a person wants the past of a child. That, being said, is a common theme in depression, idk. The third one talks about how the person came back into realizing his/her dreams (more of her though). The composer, I think, went through the struggle of not chasing dreams, then finally realizing that those dreams are what a person really needs to be happy.
I remember FrankieOnPCin1080p used part 1 of this in one of his vids, which in turn brought me here to find this gem of a trilogy. Boy am I glad I watched his stupid DayZ storylines xD This is state-of-the-art work from very talented artists. Keep it up!

This reminds me so much of my book if part two was sung by a male.
It’s about an angel who has to sacrifice herself for humanity to survive and her soulmate a human. She fights so hard she begins to lose sight of of brilliant self becoming nothing but a warrior.
But his call drives her on, he is her sanctuary and all he wishes for her is part three of this. He is determined and brilliant like part two.

This Trilogy reminds me of Dota: Dragons Blood off of Netflix. Shit was so emotional, I still tear up from listening to this mix 7 years later. I don't know who else Varien could've gotten to sing these songs, but I'm glad they got the two singers that made this trilogy so beautiful.

When it was still a thing
I believe the song is about temptation slipping inside you, and losing the power you have because you would be listening to the temptation instead of yourself, and regretting that you listened to the darkness instead of the light of God, and vowing to follow his light and be rid of your sins. The flowers blooming in the darkness are sins that people seem to choose, unaware that they are bad, and because they committed them, their gift (power) is lost as long as they continue committing them, but our angels are still protecting us, no matter how far we stray, they will be there when in need. When you were young, you didnt know all that life could bring, so you wondered about the different things you could be, and found something, but that something wasnt good to follow, now you are unsure about yourself, and where you stand among God if he is fine with what you have done. Regretting what you did, you vow to yourself that you will bring your power (Valkyrie) back, and will not falter, no matter what happens to you. Every good thing your Valkyrie has done for you fills your mind, and you realize that is what you truly want, thus making you determined to bring them back and be free of the sins you have committed. They are your key into heaven and you realized it, now you are on your way to reclaim your spot back inside, no longer corrupted (regaining your sanity). And when you finally reach your goal, you are uncertain for a moment if you deserve it, but you understand and realize that you do, and give your worries to God. Your angel speaks to you, but you are uncertain where you must go next, so she shows you, but you are unsure about it. When the path you used to take was forgiven, you accept what you must do, thus granting you the eternal life promised to everyone. You look back on your life and wonder how long ago you suffered the pain of your sins, you would defend them to the point of war, now you roam earth with your purpose and filled with faith that no one can be rid of, free of your past. You have finally found your purpose, and will fulfill it with the gifts you were given.
Edit: don’t know if I got that part, but where it says “there’s a voice that is calling for me to go beyond”, it’s your angel telling you to better yourself, and allow yourself to go beyond and reach your gifts you have if you reach out for them. I hope this was a good interpretation

Part 1. I could just imagine a music video for this 3 part epic, starting off on a battlefield shrouded in smoke an epic battle taking place, a heroic soldier fighting for his life only to be slain. Then out of the smoke and mist comes a figure in white...A Valkyrie coming to take him home to Valhalla. Only this time she chooses someone else (End of Part 1)
Part 2. Starts with our fallen warrior loosing hope of a magnificent death, then a second Valkyrie to come out of the mist and reach down to him and guide him to his rightful place at Odin's table in the halls of Valhalla...But when the Valkyrie has to return to the battlefield our warrior begins to feel an emptiness inside that only his Valkyrie could fill, thus he waits patiently in the halls of Odin for his love to return (End of Part 2)
Part 3. Whilst our warrior waits for his Valkyrie to return, he has a revelation and begins to walk the halls of Valhalla. In essence he seeks to atone for all his wrong doing. (I don't really know where to go from there as i'm not sure if I completely understand the lyrics, but i think the protagonist is essentially been reborn to walk the earth and do good instead of killing)

I finally get the trilogy! Song 1: It's a Valkyrie killing a warrior! Song 2: The Valkyrie regrets it! Song 3: The Valkyrie wants to fix it!

What doesn't add up is that they're all sung from first person and mention the Valkyrie in the third person
The first person is the Valkyrie, while the third person is someone else who wants the Valkyrie, I guess. I think the song is about a person's past. The first talks about the innocence the composer had as a child (includes dreams and stuff like not fearing death). The second talks about the way a person wants the past of a child. That, being said, is a common theme in depression, idk. The third one talks about how the person came back into realizing his/her dreams (more of her though). The composer, I think, went through the struggle of not chasing dreams, then finally realizing that those dreams are what a person really needs to be happy.
Easily some of my favorite tracks. Really conveys a story. Not to mention the kick ass intrumentals go great with the lyrics.

I remember FrankieOnPCin1080p used part 1 of this in one of his vids, which in turn brought me here to find this gem of a trilogy. Boy am I glad I watched his stupid DayZ storylines xD This is state-of-the-art work from very talented artists. Keep it up!
