I can relate on what you said that you can get tempted on getting the items that was not planned when buying groceries... grocery shopping has always been so therapeutic to me and so when I say I will only buy like this items I ended up buying more 😆😆😆
Most grocery stores in the Philippines have shelf stable milk or pasteurized milk which is the same as refrigerated milk. It’s just processed differently to avoid spoiling too fast. 😁✌️

The Philippine sunset is one of the best things of staying here. It's never the same, orange, violet, pink etc.

Grocery hack: do grocery shopping when you've already had a meal so you avoid getting things (snacks/food items) that you were not planning to buy.
Also... just bring enough cash and leave your credit/debit cards at home. Hahahahaha

I'm curious, are you already vaccinated? If yes, how's the operation there in Korea? All I know is you'll have to fill up for schedule just like in other countries, and then they will either message or contact you on your appointment. Here in PH, some allows walk-ins and some by schedule (they collect each brgy to limit the people in the site).
Are you also affected with 'no vaccine, no entry' that has been implemented? It's also like that in my province so I had a hard time getting my booster because people are now trying to get their dose because it's mandatory to be fully vaccinated to go outside. I went to vaccination site at 5am just to make sure and I'm already 100+ 🤣🤣🤣

Going inside a grocery is like the same as going to the amusement park for me. I get really really happy and excited on the things that I see that I always end up buying more than what I planned to buy🤣🤣.

We go grocery shopping just like you. We go for one thing but end up with lots of snacks. My wife's favorite place is at the H Mart in Houston, TX, it's a very popular place to get Korean-American stuff, cut meats, fish, fresh vegetables, cooked food, and snacks. So, we buy them all just to try!

I wonder if you could do a price comparison video of the common groceries between Manila and Seoul. Here in Singapore, we always convert prices to pesos especially when you are new here.
😂 Honestly, my mom would have preferred the Self Checkout because she doesn't like the way staffs pack/stuff the groceries in plastic bags/boxes.... She would always instruct how it should be. She also wants it all arranged in a way she wouldn't have to check each bag where each condiments were placed 😂 (ex: one should contain the condiments only then other bag contains the frozen food, dairy packed together 🤣)

Korean products in the Philippines are so expensive, and I will lose more of my saving if I buy them often. That's sad for a Korean business having few buyers in a market. Also, the variety of Soju should have a traditional one that I have to find out which one should I buy. Does anybody have a recommendation?

Personally, Marty's a chili flavor is my first choice than the Mang Juan competition. I carefully not to eat all in time. I prepared to put it in an enclosure box instead, so I can still eat it the next day. Just a few crunchy taste for the unhealthy diet is enough for me than patronizing it shortening your life on earth. Anyway, I think vaccination is critical in a large population that it overpowered the discrimination of the unvax.

Mang Juan will really surpass your expectation. As a filipino, I was also shocked to the chicken skin first but now I prefer it better than the regular mang juan. Btw, the chicken skin also have a vinegar flavor and that is so good.

I think fresh milk is rare in Philippine markets. Most are UHT milk that can be stored in room temperature (unopened) and have longer shelf life.

I never knew fine dust is such a huge issue in S Korea, I was just looking at the PM2.5 air quality few days ago and saw Seoul had like over 100-150, right now around 60-90s. Then panned to the left to China and wow that is shocking!!
If I visit Seoul one day, I would probably suffer from hay fever.
