  • I recently purchased a new camera to help improve footage of shed projects, but since the sun was finally out I decided to try the camera out on a live ride. Just a few minutes, with live and on the spot in helmet commentary of an amazing and insightful nature.
Music by Bonneville Pipe Band, with Adolphus Spriggs at the Piano and featuring Ruben Croucher conducting.

Well,.........That is a huge Spotlight you've fitted to ths Sidecar. We've used our Triumph T 100 Watsonian GP for twice yearly trips down to Almeria for many years. April-May and Sept-Oct. First with one Border Collie, Muffy and then one of her Pups, Smudge has come for the last 4 years. Ferry to Santander and then 2 days travel with stops with friends in El Escorial.
The Triumph has never so much has had a flat in all that time. The Sidecar featured on Dom Jollies 'Made in Britain' and i had great fun taking Dom around Castle Combe Race track while the back up crew fell in love with Muffy.
Kind Regards from Thom and Pups.
ps. We noticed the steering Wobble. We solved the problem with a damper which we took off a VW van tailgate.

Hey thanks for your comment! yes that is a big boy spotlight on the chair. Really lights the road up at night though. On the wobble, that exists only at very low speed - as soon as I'm moving I can take my hands off the bars. I used to have a damper but fitted raked steering yokes, which really made the steering light and sorted out the majority of the wobble. I'm undecided on whether to fit a damper for what's left. Is Dom Jollies on TH-cam anywhere? I'll have a look later, I'd like to see it.

Hello Stuart. The Dom Jollie Made in Britain in which my Triumph featured was Episode 1or 2 where he cleared his house of everything not British made. This explained our surprise to see him dressed in a Saville Row suit and green Argle wellys. Next he was looking for a vehicle to use for the journey. We were gathered at Castle Combe Race track and although Dom was tempted to use the Triumph the Production manager decided that this had been done before by the 2 Fat Ladies and so chose a Morgan instead. It was great fun and Dom is a genuinely nice and funny Guy. There are a couple of Episodes on You Tube and maybe you can find it there. As regards the Damper. Watsonian will sort you out at great expense or you can do what we did and find a van rear door strut and put a crank on the end of the arm to make it fit. Works a treat.@@StuartsShed

Thanks for the ride Stuart, glad to see all the snow gone now. You mention about when you brake that the side car wants to continue on, I take it then that the side car has no brakes ? Regards from Australia,

Correct Dave, no brakes on this sidecar. I have thought about adding one - wouldn’t be too hard.

I also have one of the new Bonnies (2003) and a hankering for a sidecar, but my designated hauler will be my 49 Ariel VB600

Ooooh - that Aerial is a lovely bike. Good sidecars do come up used from time to time, hopefully you can find one. I bought my Watsonian new - they are not cheap - but this is as good a time as any to buy from across the pond - and the build quality is excellent. If you choose to go that route just be aware that their delivery and communication can suck.
