4인조 혼성그룹 카드(비엠, 제이셉, 전소민, 전지우)가 19일 데뷔 앨범 '올라 올라'(Hola Hola)를 발표했다.
카드는 첫 번째 미니앨범 쇼케이스를 19일 오후 서울 강남 일지아트홀에서 열었다.
카드는 정식 데뷔 전인 지난해 12월부터 올해 4월까지 '오나나'(Oh NaNa), '돈트 리콜'(Don't Recall), '루머'(RUMOR) 등 '프리 데뷔' 싱글을 잇달아 발표해 모든 곡의 뮤직비디오가 유튜브 조회 수 1천만 뷰를 돌파하는 반향을 일으켰다.
이들은 하우스와 레게가 혼합된 장르인 뭄바톤, 자메이카에서 탄생한 댄스홀 비트 기반의 EDM(일렉트로닉댄스뮤직) 등 트렌디한 사운드로 국내보다 해외 팬들의 시선을 꽉 잡았다.
국내 활동을 제대로 한 적 없는 팀이지만 유튜브의 반향으로 '강제 해외 진출'을 하듯 미국, 캐나다, 멕시코, 브라질에서 투어를 마쳤으며 8월 열리는 일본 대표 음악 페스티벌인 '2017 서머소닉'에도 초청받았다.
데뷔 앨범에는 신곡 3곡과 '프리 데뷔' 싱글의 3곡이 함께 수록됐다.
타이틀곡 '올라 올라'는 트로피컬 하우스 장르의 EDM으로 뜨거운 태양과 푸른 바다를 연상시키는 여름 시즌 곡이다.
또 수록곡 '난 멈추지 않는다'는 DSP미디어의 선배 혼성그룹 잼이 1992년 발표한 곡으로 카드가 EDM을 가미해 새롭게 해석했다.
마지막 곡 '리빙 굿'(Living Good)은 멤버들이 작사·작곡·편곡에 참여해 데뷔를 응원해준 팬과 가족, 친구에게 고마운 마음을 전한 노래다.

I feel like most Kpop acts waste their time in trying to break into the American market but I legitimately believe that if any group could do it then it would be KARD. Just a thought.
