This is very great. Not only educational but, very inspiring. Patrick, you are very smart. You will always be on my team. All the factors and processes mentioned are on point. I grew up in Ashaiman in a compound house, now I own multiple homes and acreage of land in the US. Retiring next year from the military after 20 years, at age 45. I currently live in my home on my own property rent free. And everything you just taught here is the mindset I developed and constantly goes through my mind daily. Very educative Interview. I've learnt a lot but our banks in Ghana are not helpful.
Some of our Banks are quite helpful for some quiet reasons.
Some of the stuffs that Patrick spoke about are so practical and basic for any straight reasoning person. unfortunately, most Ghanaians manage their finances just like how they manage Christianity. If just 10 percent of Ghanaians knew a bit of what this gentleman said, mensgold wouldn't hv survived

Great discussions/advise. Investments are key compared to savings but the former has risk implications than the latter so it would be good to have differentiated from the types of investment instruments - stocks, capital and money market instruments, etc., which come with some risks. Treasury bills and bonds could provide more yield compared to savings also could be less risky but not sure if such instruments are insured in Ghana.

@Nyameye N. If it's about insurance on the Treasury bills, then you have nothing to worry about. This is because, the Treasury bills is a money instrument from the Bank of Ghana. The bank of Ghana cannot default when it comes to it's payment obligation with regards to Treasury bills payments. Should the Bank of Ghana or government default, they will use a process called seigniorage to pay the Treasury bills and the interests on it for clients. Seigniorage here simply means printing of currencies. So don't be soo worried about the insurance of Treasury bills. It's a risk free asset please.
