Nice video for getting the gears turning this morning haha, great example of “less is more” I do have a question, I know 7th chords are a big part of jazz the but this seems like it can be applied outside of that wheelhouse on different intervals and chord voicings, essentially you are playing a triad but not with the traditional maj/minor 3rd intervals that give the triad its name. Please correct me if I’m mistaken.

You're totally right! The 7th can be added to any song. This is really common when people work out arrangements of popular songs etc, the only thing to beware is making sure that you make major chords that are functioning as a dominant chord dominant 7's rather and major 7's!

Super useful information! My weak point right now is rhythm guitar and chord progressions. I find it difficult to focus and hold my attention to that subject. Any advice on somewhere to start in regards to this? Or concepts that if i learn would make it easier.

I think the biggest thing with getting better at playing chord progressions etc is just sitting down and making yourself do it. Chords are quite a bit harder to come to grips with than single note melodies because they use more fingers and therefore more neural pathways to get the end result!
My biggest piece of advice would be to maybe find 3-5 songs that you absolutely adore and practice the life out of those chord progressions. It will be frustrating and it will be slow, but if you love the music it should be at least a little bit of fun!

@mattfranceschini when I got serious about learning guitar I found it learned the most when I started learning mateus asatos the breakup song idea and the neck position
