Good stuff. Really enjoy the breakdown of your shot process and your pointing out that everyone has a different shot process. Always enjoy your content.
Love the instructional approach! Break down of the sequence was spot on and not complicated! Some sort of motivating mantra after anchor…That’s an archery shot! Basically - Step one put it in the middle, blueprint that; step two repeat step one!
Gotta learn to ignore outside? influence and maintain the whole shot process. Focus, focus, focus. In my simple mind I see a hunting shot no matter if it’s paper or critter. Mind games can work!
Never understand peep alight with scope housing. If my pin is spot on to 1/16” at 20 yds , if I see the pin is on the X….should be great …? Are many/most of us “slugs” moving that far off bubble being good that we should take focus off X and look at the bubble again. Gooood stuff as usual 🏆
For peep alignment think of it like aligning iron sights on a rifle. If you’re off a little on alignment you’ll see a change in point of impact. For the bubble, I check it every shot as I anchor and build pressure so I make sure I’m in the middle. It’s not as bad on flat ground but add in wind or hills and it becomes a bigger deal to be dragged off level. Sometimes form breakdowns will start pulling the bubble out of the middle during the shot. If I have a consistent miss in a certain direction left or right I’ll start checking for that during the shot.
Great question here! Traditionally my process is to breath in, draw while breathing out, then breath in at anchor while I'm getting on target and getting ready to go then hold that breath till the shot breaks. What I'm starting to experiment with now is that same set up but breathing out during the execution. Reason being for that is if you look at how the body works; the slow breath out slows the heart rate. When you're aiming and executing that slower heart rate in theory will help keep steadier. Still haven't shot enough this way to see what I truly think but it's something I'm working on.
@ my issue is that when my shot takes just a tiny bit too long to break, I find myself starting to tense up need to take a breath. I’ve always been fascinated by these guys who hold for 10+ seconds and can still hit the middle. I’ve always wondered if they’re breathing the whole time during their shot process.

Thank you for that! I appreciate you watching!

Thank you, sir! I appreciate the comment and you watching!

That’s for sure! The mental part of archery is far underrated for what needs to be worked on for people.
Excellent 👌🏻
Thank you for watching and your comment!
Back to the PSE? Or older footage

This question is kind of off topic, but what’s your opinion on holding your breath or breathing through your shot? Thanks

I would think they are to some degree. They’d have to.
