    Hey Brandon, nice work man and when you were working in part 1, I already saw the error coming from 2 of the same parts. But a mistake is in a small corner we always say, doesn't matter, even the best professionals make mistakes so don't be ashamed and you also showed it in the video, which I think is great, you didn't cut it out, toppie. Maybe a little late response but I like watching your videos and I haven't seen them all yet, greetings.

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man! Yah I try show my mistakes and keep things natural just so folks understand what to expect. Like welding, I think some people watch youtube and they see someone lay down a stack of dimes and assume the person must be awesome or the machine they were using is causing those awesome results and they get discouraged when they cant do it themselves. What wasnt shown was the time under the hood getting the machine dialed in for it. Thats why many of the welds I film on my channel are done with zero practice just so it's real. I get crap from some saying it looks horrible but if you have never used a machine before there is a pretty good chance your first weld won't be a stack of dimes without a few minutes under the hood getting things dialed in :) We are all going to make mistakes and it's usually pretty easy to correct it ;)

    Looks good...I like it. I absolutely hate finish work... If it takes me an hour to build a thing it'll take 3 to finish it. I'm going to check out the metal stain. Thanks!
    I wish I had waited to get the upgraded cold saw. The clamp mechanism is a whole lot better on yours.

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I feel ya on the finish work. I have lots of patients to do a good job but I get bored easily and cant wait to finish it. This saw is built really well. I have a couple ideas on mounting it which at some point might make it to a video. Cheers buddy

    Definitely the burn side Bran. It's what we call "Early Australian Rural Poverty", got plenty that colour around home here, 😆.

    Yes to burn! Try a wire wheel to relieve the grain as well. Watching you stain makes me think you will be happy with a gel stain.

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good tip on the wire wheel! I'm actually doing the wood project that I spoke about in this video and I'm going to give the wire wheel a try. Thanks! and I might have to look into that gel stain :)

    Down bead stick for thin sheet steel is necessary and down bead for thicker stuff means you crank up the amps and get less spatter than vertical up. Now if you need a combination bookshelf that can be used as a chassis for a bug out vehicle then, yea don't down bead.

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good Point! It kinda looks like a chassis!

    Is it ok to leave the mill scale on the metal when staining or painting?, I only ask because I have always been advised to remove it all , thanks and great work by the way.

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You should remove the mill scale because you will get a much more even finish if you do, but sometimes I just skip it and do extra coats of stain to blend everything.

  • @rycardin

    What did you use to make the grain pop? A torch?

  • @nodaska19
    @nodaska19 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    try black stain on wood and let it dry, after sand the stain, you will end up with 10% black stain left in the wood grain, after you stain with your regular stain..... this will give you a nice contrast like your wood burning :)

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Brandon . How much time do you use a disk for cutting metal . What is the brand ? Recommend. I'm sick of grinding wheels , and diamond is expensive .

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For a grinder I use the Lenox diamond disc to cut. They are inexpensive. $12.00 USD which is about the cost of 3 abrasive discs but it can make hundreds of cuts and no mess. For grinding discs I use SAIT and Pferd which are over your way.
