I think the aquarium enhances the photography experience. Besides, its a part of you. Something that is part of your make-up. I wouldnt let that go either
I fully believe the regular big water change rumor was started by a dechlorinator company that wanted to move more product. The only situation I’ve seen were water changes are needed is a tank with not enough filtration, a tank with no sand/dirt/gravel, or a tank with a mixture of the two. I never do water changes anymore. Only top offs.
Your past videos are a great source of information. I love the natural look of that tank. Algea is an awesome source of food for fry on top of getting rid of fish waste

Scott, I’m so glad you still have the Dovii! Also glad you are growing well in your new path. I’m struggling currently with my only tank. I have two awesome looking true Freddys from cichlid dojo, and they were growing well until I acquired a parasite from the fish I quarantined but I did not do it well enough. It’s been two months of them flashing and surviving dosed prozipro for two weeks then API general cure for two weeks then back to prozipro for another two weeks and currently Ich X daily. My dithers are fine but the fish I prize are in bad shape. Not sure how it will turn out. If they don’t make it I’ll have to re group and decide what to try next as far as amphalophas or parachromis. It’s work. I have a microscope now but I can’t anything identifiable now. They are probably just suffering from secondary affects. Your fish look amazing! Thank you for your help in the past as well as your videos.
It is great to see you and the Dovi ! (Sounds like a rock group 😆 ) It is amazing how nature can take care of itself. Human hubris concludes that tanks are good because of us; however, often tanks are good in spite of us. The fish are just along for the ride. That said, you are one of most accomplished aquarists out there. It is no surprise that your channel numbers still grow. I must be one of the least perceptive as this was my first clue of your new endeavors. I'll try to catch up. Until then, best wishes to both of you and the Dovi, Jim
I'm relatively new to the hobby, but I've got the bug_ it's amazing I mean truly therapeutic for me and my ptsd... Right now I have a 80 gallon frag tank with African & South/Central America cichlids... Within the next 12 months I plan on purchasing a 180 & would like to purchase a pair of Dovii... Can you assist & any suggestions you may give are appreciated... Thanks
Hi scott glad to see you're back I have a question for you ,on the bottom lip of your male dovii what is that on his bottom lip mine also has that on his bottom lip do you know what that is caused from and if it can harm the fish.thanks
