Welcome back! For some reason when I watch I feel like I'm in my own studio. Hard to explain, mine is totally different. But because you open up your space and your heart I feel right at home.
I love the little removable metal pans you showed at about 17:30. I kept thinking that they looked somehow familiar. It finally hit me. They are just like the little pans in makeup palettes that come filled with eye shadow, blush, powder, etc! I immediately dug out some old, used up makeup palettes, pried out the little pans, and washed them! They are perfect! My watercolor palette is plastic, so I couldn't use magnetic straps to hold them in, but tacky putty works great. I'm not ever gonna throw out an old makeup pallet without removing the pans from now on! 😀
Im also going back to watersolors after alot of acrylic painting. Watercolor is like magic making things by it self. I have to be the conductor some how. Just also sorted all my colors and now it feels great. I have alot of paint but that did not stoped me from getting some more. Since it was a log time ago I used watercolors there are alot of new interesting things so get my hannds on, and I could not resist. bought some pastell, metallic and granulating watercolors. Cant wait to try them out. Thanks for your inspiring videos.
So glad you are back and watercolors too! Case for Making (CFM) is the best handmade watercolor shop and it's local to me in San Francisco. They just do little things that go above and beyond regular art stores. For example, way back on September 9, 2020 we were at the peak of horrible fires here in California. Case for Making made a handmade watercolor that is "custom blended from 4 of their core pigments to represent the color of the sky that day the sun didn't rise due to the smoke and ash being pushed above the marine layer-blocking out the daylight". We will never forget that day. If you are ever in Northern Caifornia, they are worth a visit and have ceramics as well as other items in their shop.

I could've watched three hours of this video 😂 the Jeanne Oliver colors, omg I can see some of my favorite color pencils that look just like those watercolors and I definitely need them! so excited for this because I have not been using my watercolors that much. Fun to see you play with watercolors, I'll definitely give that other video a look. I have a number of CFM (Case For Making) watercolors, they're lovely. There's a really interesting color called Glow that works with other colors to give them a little umph. I'm also a fan of that Moss color and Lime, great for mixing 🪄

Here in Europe we can get Savon de Marseille, originally made with olive oil, now may contain palm/coconut. The scented versions are beautiful in the bathroom, the regular unscented ones are perfect for gentle brush cleaning and also for laundry stains.

Sandy, I made myself a travel Watercolor kit by using an old pencil case 10 normally a 36/24 is a nice largest size or you can use at 12 pencil 10. You can fit a whole heap more in it and it will take half pounds in full pants or you need to do is magnetise the bottom or use some blue tack.
It's been a long time since I've watched any of your videos. I took a loooong break from TH-cam, but it's good to be back. Your videos are always delightful. It's good that you were able to take a break and are now back at it. That sign is really cool!! I've been meaning to try that kind of watercolour paint, the ones in those cubes that are better quality than the kind that you get in school painting sets. Have fun camping!!

I haven’t made art in about a year now. I was overworked 60 hours / week sometimes 2-4 weeks without a day off. Got a new job and now Going on vacation and bringing my sketchbook! 🎉😃 missed watching your videos I’ll have to catch up
Whoa those little mixing trays in your palette are genius!!! And I showed one of your videos to my class two weeks ago and yesterday they were telling me how inspired they were to use their sketchbooks and just play! I should have videoed it to show you! They were so so so inspired and love what you did for them in one video!!! Yay

My hubby always says it’s weird and that no one else just leaves mail sitting there...but I do...and now I know that you do too😀 Oh and I literally laughed out loud when you said “this poor sink never gets cleaned”...I think that’s what they call an understatement 😂
That texture!! That granulation! How have your Wallace seymoUR held up in their pans? Do they rewet nicely? I’ve read a few reviews saying they crack and are hard to re-wet and I am gifting Lakeland Slate and Davys Grey to myself for my birthday and wondering if I should add something to the pan like glycerine to help it. There aren’t many reviews of the vintage watercolour range around so it’s hard to know what to do.
I’ve used that magnetic tape on my pans, but it never stays stuck. I started putting a dot of super glue on the magnet before I stick it on. That has worked. 😊❤️
Love your new palette organization. Makes way more sense in my head to have it arranged like that instead of the way it's "supposed" to be. Why do we not just put things the way that makes sense to us?! Great video as usual! ❤️

Those watercolours from Jeanne are amazing. The Lakeland Slate is named after a slate commonly found in the stunning Lake District in the UK. I saw the Paris set the other day online .... I am saving up!

I j ow - I’m so sorry to hear that Debbie! Daniel Smith watercolors have a lot of pigments that have granulation that you may want to check out and Natasha Newton has a TH-cam channel and she swatches a TON of watercolors so you might find some similar pigments there

Lol, over time I have noticed that all your palettes has gotten less and less limited 😄 But you still say limited palette 😂 However, lately you doesn't say it with the same confidence as earlier. Now your "limited palette" talk, always are followed by a lot of mumbling and hand gestures 😂😂

I lloooovver CaseForMaking WC. I have three of the tiny tins that hold a dozen colors. I group them by color. So easy to take to the zoo. It firs on your hand.

Those JO paints certainly were gorgeous. Wish they weren't $128 for 6 small tubes, though. Definitely not affordable for most artists.

Those watercolours from Jeanne are amazing. The Lakeland Slate is named after a slate commonly found in the stunning Lake District in the UK. I saw the Paris set the other day online .... I am saving up!

They also do these fab pigmented drawing stones, which I think you would love.
They are Wallace Seymour Paints. Lakeland Slate is £8. They do open stock, and ship to US. They also do these colours in acrylics, oils, pastels.

I j ow - I’m so sorry to hear that Debbie! Daniel Smith watercolors have a lot of pigments that have granulation that you may want to check out and Natasha Newton has a TH-cam channel and she swatches a TON of watercolors so you might find some similar pigments there

Try using white appliance spray paint to refinish your crusty watercolor palette!
You know what's freaking me out Sandi? You scrubbing with those watercolour brushes haha! Gorgeous colours and your videos always make me want to paint 😊💜

Lol, over time I have noticed that all your palettes has gotten less and less limited 😄 But you still say limited palette 😂 However, lately you doesn't say it with the same confidence as earlier. Now your "limited palette" talk, always are followed by a lot of mumbling and hand gestures 😂😂

I lloooovver CaseForMaking WC. I have three of the tiny tins that hold a dozen colors. I group them by color. So easy to take to the zoo. It firs on your hand.
