I can't understand how Rise Against owns the language. It's magic to read these words etched into each other. Simply beautiful! Thank you Tim, and the rest of Rise Against. Let's win this world.
Randi you are so incredibly ignorant. I’m guessing you’d also be one of those people on the titanic who says it’s not sinking because they’re at the top half that’s above the water
A semantic nitpick; Climate change and global warming are not the same thing. Global warming is a type of climate change however climate change isn't inherently global warming. However climate change and climate shift are the exact same thing. The earth does go through natural changes in climate, however these often happen over time. What people are often referring when they talk about climate change is man made climate change. This is when human actions significantly influence and accelerate the earths natural climate cycles. This is what's happening now. Unfortunately I'm on my phone so I can't send you a link, however Google 'NASA Climate Change Evidence' for more insight.
I love the solos this band does because their not that show-off crap other bands do. When listening to those super fast solos I'm like, "Okay you can play really fast but where is the emotion?" With this band I love all the songs and the solos a really good. YEA RISE AGAINST
"Neutrality means that you don't really care cause the struggle goes on even when you're not there" Am I the only one who fucking loves those lyrics???
I don’t know about you but I personally think this is their best album they finally strayed away from the screamo . His voice is too good to be screaming.
yeah i heard it too, it sounded a bit like hello hello from a quiet radio with static, listened again, it sounds more to me like, " help us please, help"
"When your home on the range, has been torn down and paved, and the buffalo roam to a slaughterhouse grave...." Love that line. =) that and the whole chorus are the best points made in this song. One of the best songs off of "Appeal to Reason" purely because what it's talking about is like, undeniably true.....
love how rise against isn't just rock, but has meaning in each and every song... especially this one!! loveee it! and hey maybe all the goverment should listen to this song, and take some tips.. lol but love the part it says 'this is not a test, oh no , this is cardiac arrest, infact all of it is just AWESOMEEE... replayed it like 100 times ---------> here we go again! lol =]
You are so right. I took advanced US History, and you're pretty logical. You're talking about the origin of this song, and I like it. You're not offending anybody, but the bit about neutrality could've also been about France too, because remember when France wasn't going to help us during The War On Terrorism, and how people in the USA stopped calling French fries French fries, and starting calling them Freedom Fries (yeah we scared them a bunch with that, because then they decided to help then)
i like how some religion vs. science arguement started up in the comments of an apparently very mystical rise against song. this is how much we love them. personally while im an aethiest and believe in science i feel that science desnt exactly DEFY religion. im the kind of man who tries to speak to christians or other religions like the work of science was created by higher beings. regardless of whether i actually believe that or not. but regardless thanks for uploading this video. =)
Its because it was written and performed by the same piece of 6shit Commies that are currently destroying society. Don't get my wrong I like Rise Against music but people like them are destroying society then screaming victimhood.
@dewybmt i'm christian, but your ideas are right at heart and u seem like u don't argue about whether God is real or not, you my good sir, are a real man
@soccer11332 - There is a similar conflict within Christianity between those who believe that God created the world and placed us on it as stewards or caretakers of His creations vs the Dominionists who believe the God's creations are to be exploited as we desire to enhance wealth and power.
Lal, the 2 top comments are from TMC :D Anyways, sick channel mighty ;) this channel deserves way more subscribers with high quality, epic rise against songs. i already subbed, and hope there r more with me :)
I love the guitar solo at 2:38. XD Zach's guitar playing is one of the things that made this album okay. Yes, it was a little mainstream and soft, but the guitar in almost all of the songs is just to die for. Not as good as Chris or Todd, but still pretty damn good. And of course you can't argue with Tim's voice and lyrics.
This song has been coming in and out of my head recently, and I thought the title was "Cardiac Arrest", because I knew that a huge lyric from it is "Cardiac Arrest", and I know I had heard it from the soundtrack of a video game, so I went through all the Madden soundtracks, couldn't find it. Then I went through a few MLB The Show soundtracks, and I saw one on 09 that was this one (Again, I thought it was called Cardiac Arrest) and I was like "Hmm, that's familiar" And it ended up being it:) \m/
@DeadGoldBass I don't download music for the simply reason of not needing music on my computer. Besides, you can (as I sometimes do) just record the sound of whatever you hear with windows movie maker with the same quality as the sound you're listening to. It doesn't require any fancy software, since movie maker is already installed on most computers.
@@luckymagikarp354 I know this is an old comment but I've got to point out for future readers. "this is noise" is the opening line in the song Chamber the cartridge. The first track on rise againsts album The sufferer and the witness.
@3daysAnd2nights I corrected the first chorus because I believe you're right, but in the second and third, he says "oh no" - I am 150% certain of that. Either way, I'd appreciate if you could check for me.
lol i know im pointing out the obvious but there is a lot of american history in this song, Tim really did his research before writing this. For example, the buffalo slaughter throughout the late 1800's,middle ground involving the whites interactions with the natives and him referring to the US as cowardly for being neutral because of how america wanted to stay out of European affairs. Let me know if i missed something (I took AP American History :D ). Great song and well written, anyone agree?
@niceguy122 I don't see your point. Rise Against have practically changed genre with their latest 2 albums, so if you think their fanbase will consist of only 1 demographic of people, you're painfully mistaken.
I have no favourite or least favourite RA album, but I do have favourite and least favourite songs on each of their album. This one's my favourite of ATR.
Hes not going on saying "oh this album is better than this one blah blah blah" hes saying every album is equal and they've always been which doesn't start any fights over this album and that one. What your saying is yes he is giving his opinion on when the band has been at their best and what album is great but his opinion is one that even he cant decide on. Also thanks about the comments thing.
@TheLeaderofBDC I fear that I am not much of a guide when it comes to visitors here. There are no specific tourist attractions here, most people who visit do it for the quiet (yet harsh) and unique nature, and the culture. Also keep in mind that it is quite expensive to visit. The flight costs a fortune, the food is expensive and the few hotels can be expensive.
@coonsasquatch Actually, it's just a satiric misspelling. Some languages spell it with K, but in modern English, it doesn't mean anything particular. It might be a reference to some notable person who has used "Amerika" but it doesn't mean anything.
I appreciate the knowledge in your comment, however, I don't think that Tim was talking about America when he talks about neutrality. believe it or not, I believe he is talking about Sweden or Denmark in present time, hence, "the fight in the desert". I believe he was talking about the war in the middle east, which as you know, is going on now.
@themightychickens you're missing out. I'm a long time RA fan 7+ years now. I am in love with their music and even if you arent a fan of the politics, some of the songs on end game are phenomenal.
'neutrality means that you don't really care,
cause the struggle goes on even when your not even there'
My favorite quote from now on.
I can't understand how Rise Against owns the language. It's magic to read these words etched into each other. Simply beautiful! Thank you Tim, and the rest of Rise Against. Let's win this world.
First time listener....
Came here from googling "Appeal to Reason." A publication about social issues..
Got this....
Appreciate the lyrics...
Covers pollution, politics, human-caused climate change, crime rate, and economics. Awesome as always, Rise Against.
julian12465 and factory farming. They're all vegetarian or vegan. I love Rise Against.

I thank my sister.... for blasting this in her car for over an hour. Now I have a new favourite band :D
oh my god
"lights go out as we pass the torch again in hope that it stays lit." gave me chills like no song before
First Rise Against song I ever heard. I was in love.

@perpexel It literally means 'After America' or if you will, 'After the fall of America.'
a song about the future and the past..... more than i could ask for
best band ever, been a fan for a long time and it never gets old. long live rise against!
this sums up 2016 perfectly. love rise against
A very relevant song for the world today.
shame how there's literally not a single accurate tab of this song on the internet lol
VGMarkis This.

I love them but my favorite is "when your home on the range has been torn down and paved, and the buffalo roam to a slaughter house grave."
I read your comment as it said it
this song is so powerful, its so true, even 11 years later...
So sad that this song is so accurate
Sad
My fellow Americans, welcome back.
I don’t know about you but I personally think this is their best album they finally strayed away from the screamo . His voice is too good to be screaming.
Neutrality means that you don't really care
Cuz the struggle goes on even when you're not there
Blind and unaware
My favorite line of the entire song.
everyone listen closely at the end of the song, there is like a hidden message or something. It's saying "hello, hello" or something
this comment for sure has by far not enough likes.
I guess people either don't get it or dont't care about it. who cares about anything, though?
yeah i heard it too, it sounded a bit like hello hello from a quiet radio with static, listened again, it sounds more to me like, " help us please, help"
Sam Caballero i dont hear it
Sam Caballero hell yes, sounds like someone asking for help
I've heard this before. I can hear, "Hello? Hello! Is anyone there?"
This has got to be the truest song EVER.
"When your home on the range, has been torn down and paved, and the buffalo roam to a slaughterhouse grave...." Love that line. =) that and the whole chorus are the best points made in this song. Thats just the way I feel about their music. Their music displays a different message that not very man other bands can project to their audience.
This song was featured in MLB 2009. It's the first one I've ever heard from Rise Against, and since then this band has been my favorite.
love rise against and this song is awsome ;)

the lyrics cant fail to move someone "when the home on your road has been torn down and paved. the buffalow roam to a slaughter house grave"
I don't really like Rise Against, but this song impressed me. Lots.
“When the marsh fever spreads from the swamps to our homes”.

the song that got me into rise against!
He also mentioned the home on the range being torn down and paved, which is obviously a statement about the spread of urbanization.
