  • Finally got to test the trailer for its intended purpose, a ride to the airport. Marton and I demonstrate how the process of taking the URB-E to the airport might look.
Check out Part 1 for details on the trailer:

Hope it helps! I'm planning to do a part 3 with quicker pins and full weight. If all goes to plan then some actual travel will come as well, but as part of the VLOG.
      Thanks for watching!

Sweet vid NoS! I've been looking for a mod like this. Question: Have you found an airline that will allow URB-E? Will it even get passed TSA?

      thanks!
So while i would always prefer to check my ride, the URB-E staff commonly gate check their URB-E, so i imagine that i it does get past tsa even walking into the terminal. the issue with flying is now the extra focus on lithium batteries in general. this would be a great topic to discuss on the forum and share experiences!

Okay, so I know Sport GT meets battery rating for TSA. How about Pro GT? What I see here is classic (correct me if I am wrong), which exceed battery watts. Can you confirm this? Did you have any problem in real life? I had Sport GT, had no problem with gate checkin. I happen to get PRO GT 19.

Correct. The classic and pro are on the same chassis and use a similar battery which are not flight approved. Only the sport has a flight approved battery, but many have gate checked their pro/classic as a mobility assistance device and just carry the battery onboard, like the sport.

@@yoonlee5278 Your welcome, but for more clarification: most airlines allow 160-200W batteries to be carried on-board with you. If the device is a "medical device" then you can carry up to a 300W battery on-board with you while gate checking the URB-E itself. So technically the Sport with its 297W battery would need to qualify as a medical device to go on-board. The Pro with over 300W battery would not qualify under any terms officially, so you may not be allowed because of the size of the battery.
