I just clicked on this because of the channel name. The enduring association between LSD and tie-dye is so funny! I think it harkens back to a time when custom trippy visuals were not easy to come by (time consuming to generate and hard to print onto fabric*) and tie-dye appealed to the hippie diy crafts vibe as well as an easy counter culture signalling. It's got a bit of a boomer / california thing about it now especially when rainbow, but it can be quite fun to play with at home, & fab to combine with Japanese shibori techniques or bleach/discharge dyes. Thanks for the video by the way.
* Indian paisley fabrics were also very popular in the 70s, & yeah they can do hella interesting things when tripping lmao, like growing teeth and spinning like a chainsaw. Never tried checking out tie dye visuals when high though.

I am about to be 51 looking for something more to keep busy. This is it!
I'm in my 60s and I've done tyedye with the grandkiddos a couple times now.
I found a whole box of white shirts I bought to do it again with the youngest (he's 3 😮wish us luck 😅) I found all the clearance dye I bought amd it was blue/red heavy so I've been picking up a few more extra colors. I also got smart and ordered the soda ash and color safe bleach to help them come out more bright.
I've been binge watching tyedye vids so I can do fancier shirts this time. But one of our favorite shirts last time was one where my granddaughter took a dry shirt and dropped random drops on it then we went back and sprayed it with water in the spots to make it bleed around and it turned out really nice

Woah....I absolutely LOVE your tye dyes! I made them for a woman here in Houston who sold them to a big expensive department store back in the 80s. They NEVER turned out like your beautiful shirts. I appreciate the calm music too. All I need is some kush and life will be perfect...😊💜☯️☮
