It’s Transformational.. particularly around the Ravensthorpe Station area which will be the scene of the substantial “Riverside” housing project.. I think although its is difficult to believe, as it stands, that the Riverside area will be a sort after place to live because of the beautiful agricultural/woodland area it is located and the fantastic Rail and probably bus links to pretty much anywhere
At Mirfield it goes back to how it was before. (4 track before they lifted one track). Mirfield station extended to how it was in a way, with longer platform east of station lane, like it used to be, but will be more modern when done, posh shelters and lifts.
So it all ends at Mr Sparkles Car Wash! No seriously this is all very interesting. So this is how they are going to do it. I have simulated the route from the 1950s when we had up and down slow and fasts. Then it was 25mph at Heaton Lodge and 45 at LNWR Junction. Ambitious plan I must say for new Ravensthorpe station. I hope more than 10 people a day us it!
New East West lines are being completed in the South, but East West upgrades are delayed in the North, e.g., the East West Line between Cambridge and Oxford.
it would be nice to have a commentary. Also it would help to explain what has to be done at each location, why work is needed and what benefits each piece of work gives.
The ability to move a factor more passengers will be the result when done in comfort ( people sat instead of stood) Longer, faster and more frequent trains basically. Thats why two extra and straighter tracks where possible. New signalling. Longer and more platforms. and finally new trains.. voila!

The old line was useless for the services we have now, it used to be laid out for freight going to Healey Mills, now the main traffic is to Leeds
Has this been added to Network Rail's website, haven't seen this before. Great demonstration of the TRU

I think they will. Build it and they will come ❤
Yes, indeed. More and more people use trains now, especially for travelling to work and back.

Thanks for this.
Can't help thinking all this is easy stuff that should have been done years ago.
West Yorkshire screwed again.
It's costing 11.4 billion
This mega! And it’ll take years!
