I love how in the chorus her raspy loud "screams" sound like some sort of mysterious beast/monster in the woods at night that is screaming in pain. It sounds very haunting. I get full body chills when she does those in combination with those loud vocal cracks that sound like her voice is exploding in her throat. This is why I never like it when people cover this song, because almost everyone sings the chorus very "clean" and very "karaoke-style(?)".
As a Sia superfan, this chorus is lipsynched😅 She later lowered the key so she could actually sing it live on her 2016 tour I recommend some songs she performed at KCRW 2007 and 2008, like Somersault and Breathe Me.
