I wish these songs were available at least via iTunes Japan 😔 wonder why sometimes they are, and sometimes aren’t? Would that harm physical CD sales too much? I think a TON of fans would like to have a digital download
That is frustrating but unfortunately, there are many reasons why we don't get some of the music available for digital purchase or even streaming. It can range from the music label not wanting to make the music available, to a franchise/artist not having enough international fans to warrant licensing music or even the insanely high costs of worldwide music licensing itself (regardless if there are many or few fans). And yes, streaming harms physical sales, almost the same as piracy does (as streaming pays 0,001 cents - that's not even 1 cent - per stream). Also, music labels in Japan are well aware of music piracy among international fans - especially if the music is made available for digital purchase (the well-known method of "1 person purchases the CD and then shares it with everyone"). Still, if you don't find some music by seiyuu/2D groups on iTunes, OTOTOY - an official digital downloads store - has most 2D group songs available for purchase. If something is region-locked to you, a soft VPN use works wonders in being able to purchase music through them.
