I lived 1 mile from this track from 1970 to 1987. Soooo many wonderful memories! RIP Walter Henry ( the blown green vette at the end)

My uncle lived on the lake, in Denver. But, I lived off South Blvd and went to Olympic with a Lee Auten. Haven’t seen him since 1988-89ish. We occasionally played bluegrass guitar in Hechingers Hardware parking lot, South Blvd.
The entire Charlotte area was PERFECT until about 1988.

If you think races at Shuffletown were good in the 80's [& they were], you shoulda' been there in the late 60's->through the 70's! So many cool cars & great races; memories galore. If you were there back then, think back on Cherry & son's gold 55, Ace Speed Shop's [on Independence Blvd] white Chevy II, Liston Kendall's blue A/Gas Anglia [who along w/others would sometimes do full 1/8 mi wheelstands for the crowds enjoyment], Roy Hill campaigning a beige SS Roadrunner, funny cars on Sundays, loads of A/Gas & SS cars. Shuffletown was the coolest thing about Charlotte back then & the announcer; what a distinctive voice. That place was just too cool for words.

+Raven Carrier That place epitomized "good times" didn't it? Such a cool place; I'll never forget Shuffletown; it was the absolute best thing about Charlotte.

I know what you mean! I was reminiscing about those days, actually lamenting! LOL I lived in Charlotte for 20 years, moved away in 94 to the mountains, near Asheville so my children wouldn't get lost in the cracks in Charlotte. Things changed so much and it is sad, imo :(
Shuffletown has a very special place in my heart, good times, great people, and I miss them more than I can express! Life has become so boring these days. I was really cheered up by your video!! Thank you for sharing it!!! Btw..it is so nice to meet you!

+Raven Carrier I know what you mean about life being so boring these days; it's like much of the color of life is now gone. However, here's a couple more videos that may bring a few moments of excitement back: 1. Todd Tutterow-Rickie Smith Staging Duel-Farmington Dragway 2. Ford GT 40 Lapping at Daytona International Speedway 3. NitroAmerica 2014-Plug Your Ears *Crank up the speakers & enjoy
