Great video. Just got a metal detector for Christmas and was looking at videos and realized I'd need a shovel. As a blacksmith I thought of building my own and when I searched your video came up. Very nice ideas and execution.

You design is exactly what I need I do wish you’d sell a few 😉😉😉
Hay Kevin, how yu going mate...? this is Paul from Australia, I know your real happy with your shovel and you did do a really good job on making it, Just wanted to give you a little hint if you make a nuther one, instead of putting a bend in the round bar measure about 3inches from the end of your choice that is going to be attached to the shovel, then diagonally cut from that mark to the end, mark the centre of the shovel where the bar will be attached and weld the bar on, THEN heat the bar near to the top of the shovel to get the handle straight, ( I even turn the shovel over and drill 1/2 inch hole and then fill it with weld just to give the bar more holding ability to the shovel ) I hope that helps, ( you can also cut a 3inch V on the bar and the shovel and weld them together that way, witch is how I made my last one ) Now all I seam to be doing is making shovel's for people, but hay they keep paying for them so I keep making them. OH nearly forgot, I use 6inch pipe 3mil thick, easy to cut, and easy to work with, just some hints for yu mate.
Camo paint....lol You will set it down and spend 3 hours looking for it, I was thinking about neon green and a flashing LED light on my shovel and maybe a bike flag so I can find it .

You want to sell one like the first one you showed? If you undercut the price of the big companies you could really sell them! I would buy one, they look stronger than the ones you can buy online
