It’s a pity that this homily is only in Tagalog.We ,I am Canadian and my wife,Marieta is Ilocano , regularly listen to your homilies because most of the time they are English and Tagalog.This synod is important to the Catholic Church and we are trying to get a feel for it.We listened to Bishop Goh from Singapore this morning preach about the upcoming Synod.Our local parishes have not said anything about the Synod yet. Have we forgotten why the Holy Ghost came down on Pentecost? If the Holy Ghost came down again, what do you think will happen? Will the Holy Ghost say it's okay to let the non-believers continue in their ignorance?
What is the primary mission of the Church? Isn't it to preach the Gospel and to baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Ghost? Why did Pope Francis say "Don't proselytize"?
The synod initiated by the Church hopefully would tackle the problem of poverty of our people objectively not academically. The so-called separation of church and statei must be re-examined to bring about effective cooperation for the sake of long term benefits. Lip service by both church and state is contrary to their raison de etre.
