  • During a Christmas weekend, discover Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, with me
I'll show you Nyhavn, the Tivoli amusement park, the Norrebro district, the Little Mermaid and the citadel (Kastellet)
    Nyhavn
In the Indre By district, I advise you to go to "Nyhavn", where colorful facades are reflected in the water along the quays lined with cafes and restaurants, it's very pleasant.
You can continue the walk to "Amalienborg", these are 4 palaces with a huge square which has a sculpture in its center and lined with guards since it is the winter residence of the royal family
At the end of this square you will be able to see the large dome of the “Marmorkirken” Church, also called the Marble Church, do not hesitate to visit it, it is very beautiful
    Tivoli Amusement Park
This amusement park, which covers more than 80,000 square meters, is considered to be the oldest amusement park in the world. It would even be the very first that was created, it dates from 1843 and it is visited by more than 4 million tourists per year.
Theoretically it is closed in winter but it opens exceptionally for the Christmas period.
And I must say that it’s magnificent, the magic of Christmas is everywhere, especially once night falls with all these lights
    It’s magical, I highly recommend!
    The little Mermaid
Not very far you can go see the little mermaid on the “Langelinie” promenade at the water’s edge
This 1.25 meter sculpture was created in 1909 by the artist Eduard Eriksen and has become, over time, the most famous inhabitant of Copenhagen and today it is its symbol.
It has been vandalized very often
This is why it is only a copy that is placed there, the original is kept in a secret place.
On the way you can take a trip to the citadel "Kastellet", right next to it there are beautiful red buildings.
    Norrebro district
In 2021 the English magazine "Time Out" ranked this place in the list of the coolest neighborhoods in the world.
It is a former working-class neighborhood which is today multicultural.
It is accessed by the Queen Louise's Bridge, which is (apparently) one of the most used bridges by bicycles in the world, with more than 40,000 passing by every day.
The neighborhood is nice but nothing extraordinary apart from the "Blågårdsgade" street which is lively
A little further you can find the street "Værnedamsvej" which is considered to be the main artery of a French-style neighborhood
