May not be a one cycle but more of a SSG Ballista type of combo. Send in a dog as a distraction. Come in from another angle. Axe bonk for some knock back SSG for some more knock back. Throw an axe. Start running for your life since for some reason you can no longer control when you swing your axe.
I still feel like the Marauder should of been a character and not just a thing you fight over and over again but hey he works how he is now anyway so no worries.
It feels like this happend to both the Marauder and the Doomhunter. They should have chosen one as the reoccurring boss and the other as the "queen chess piece" enemy.

If a Marauder is stunned you can kill him with the Crucible instead of a Glory Kill. Kinda silly how Doomguy isn't able to outmanouvre a shield with a sword. I guess he fights with all rage and no skill.
Crucible (and it's other types) is an argent energy weapon. Only select people can wield them, including The Slayer and higher level Gods. The highest level night sentinels can wield an inferior version of it. But once they become corrupted, only then argent energy flows through them and they can wield crucible type weapon and shield. And the power depends on how much argent energy is flowing through them. Basically you kill more, you get more power. That's why The Slayer can one shot every demon with the crucible but marauders can't.
They're real, but they were cut and could only be found in the game's files. They likely had different speeches prepared and felt that the one we got currently fit the story the best

Like for instances, He can learn how to counter Ballista SSG Cheap attacks basically punishing players and finding ways to adapt on how to defeat the Marauder with new strategies. Then the Final Duel which Will be in Nekravol Part 2 before proceeding to Urdak, this will be the Ultimate Challenge for both of you. Such a wasted opportunity for ID Software. Hopefully in Future Doom Games The Marauder will play like these akin A Nemesis Pursuer Type Demon.

I just played maraurder first time play through on UV and I don't understand what all the shitty game reviews where saying about it being so hard. Definitely on any higher difficulty I'd be fucked but it didn't take me more than 2 tries to do
Honestly I think everyone should play on nightmare. It makes it feel more of a deadly fight and actually Hones your aim and reaction better. I've always played on NM until recently I tried UV and didn't realize how much of difficultly leap it is to nightmare had me use more ammo then needed or straight up kill instead of glory killing
I honestly would've preferred the marauder and the gladiator to switch places. The marauder being a climactic boss fight and the gladiator being a tough enemy you fight every now and then
