As a fan since debut, this documentary basically sums up their journey. I actually cried to some parts while watching this when it was released. It just made me proud of what they have achieved as a group. Just like what it says in the video, all of them have equally contributed to their success. I witnessed that. Soyeon can easily go solo since she was already known even when she’s a trainee but no she decided to wait for years just to debut with her members. I just want the ppl to know that she really love them and cared for them as her sisters. The line distributions is not the representation of their relationship. They treat each other as family. You can also see their tight teamwork in bts videos that they regularly upload. Some ppl keep on painting Soyeon as a bad person even without knowing her just to drag idle since they are rising in the industry. They continue to discredit their success and calling them names. Idk why but they can’t accept the fact that idle are making their way up in Korea rn even with the situation we currently in.
great reaction. on the topic of criticism of soyeon’s looks, this is specifically about her as an “idol” which is a subcategory of “kpop.” in idol music groups, there is a very stringent beauty standard that is widely criticized now. the reason visuals are as emphasized in idol groups is due to the nature of the focus of their work. in idol music, the music itself is only part of the “product” of the group. idol music is widely known to be as much visual as auditory. the mv appearance and sound are almost equally important in this category of korean music. there is a lot of content out on youtube if you’re interested in the context of this topic. definitely agreed with your take that musicians should be judged by their musics sound not their appearance but in idol music (which this documentary specified) that is unfortunately not the reality. keep up the great reactions!
This documentary was a gigantic collaboration project between an international group of neverlands(nevies), and as I only played a minor role as a translator, I'm more-or-less in the same boat as everyone else amazed and appreciative of how much time and effort that must have been put into this project. Fun fact: the documentary has subtitles in 19 languages to make it easier for new or potential nevies to get as comprehensive an insight into a group through a single video as possible. ❤💜 Hope you weren't overwhelmed by what you learned from the documentary, because heres some more*: Within the first month of I BURN's release (from Jan 11 to Feb 11), the album sold ~160K copies. While ~160K is a lot, it was juuuust below the best-selling album under Cube Entertainment - Fiction and Fact by B2ST - and sales tend to die down after the first month... However, if there's one thing we must never forget, its that (G)I-DLE are not a group that follows the same ruleset as the rest of us. By the end of the second month (Mar 11), I BURN had sold an additional ~40K, bringing the total sales to 202K. 2 days later, the album sold 9032 units in a single day. (G)I-DLE is not only the breadwinner of Cube Entertainment... because as of March 11th, they have also officially become the group behind the best-selling album under Cube. With Hwaa scoring a total of 10 wins, as well as achieving a "triple crown" (3 wins on the same show) on MCountdown by winning for 3 consecutive weeks, the song is not only the groups most successful song (their previous record was 6 wins with DUMDi DUMDi), it also made Soyeon the first female kpop artist to write and produce a song that won a triple crown and the 10th kpop artist overall. Combine that with the fact that Soyeon is the fastest female kpop rapper and 10th fastest kpop rapper overall, and that I TRUST made her the first female kpop artist to have written an entire EP without a co-writer, its fair to say that she wasn't lying in Lion: "I created a new path no one has attempted before." *The 202K and 9K parts weren't in the documentary because the former happened a couple of days (literally, 2 days) before it premiered, and the latter happening approximately 12 hours before.
Everyone who worked on the project did a great job! Thanks for assisting with putting this together! I read your entire comment and appreciate the additional information!
@@LosFloChannel Thank you for reacting to it and bringing the amazing work of Summer et al. to a wider audience - ever bit helps 😊 Fun fact: before the documentary premiered, one of Summer's hype posts about it was retweeted by Mac Yontararak... Minnie's brother 😲 Don't mind if I share some more info, as Soyeon wasn't done breaking records. Her newly released debut mini album "Windy" actually surpassed HyunA's "Bubble Pop!" in sales* (HyunA's album had about 15K), making Soyeon the main writer and producer of not only the best-selling album under Cube but also its best-selling album by a female soloist. When did her album surpass HyunA's? 3 days before it even released 🔥🔥 *Note: Bubble Pop! is a decade-old album so this isn't by any means the grandest of accomplisments, but still...
Thanks again for letting me know more about the accomplishments Soyeon and (G)I-DLE have made so far! Much respect once again for putting this video together!
G Idle did hold the record for rookie awards until Itzy came out and got 1 up on them but also won the big 5. Rookies have been getting better and better I swear! In the 2nd round of queendom all the teams had to cover another teams song. They chose Park Bom so they did a 2NE1 song. Park Bom loved it! She covered Haan I believe if I remember correctly. You gotta watch the Halloween costume dance performance of Put it Straight!!!! Its amazing! They were second runner up meaning they were 3rd, oh my girl got 2nd, mamamoo got 1st
Asia award shows are usually a lot bigger than america award shows in term of stage appearances and cost. And since they have a bigger amount of artists than american artist they usually have 2-3 stages in one award shows. They go all out on their music video and award show stages. Obviously america is richer and therefore they can do it too also but they tend to don’t put out huge money on their stages and mv. Maybe cause labor and production cost is much more expensive than in asian countries or south korea so america don’t go all out on their production cost on their stages and music videos... lol
Giant Pink won Unpretty Rapstar I think, Nada was 2nd. Even though Soyeon came 3rd, she left a hell of a mark in that competition. You should check out Soyeon's songs in unpretty rapstar, she has 3 songs on there: Scary - Soyeon and Nada (there's a version where it's just Soyeon) Day of a kid - Soyeon ft. Superbee And Smile - Soyeon ft. Davii (Soyeon also performed this with Minnie on stage and performed it again in Nada's show "Sofa Away" the episode where Nada reunites with Soyeon and Minnie after 5 years) I think Smile is Soyeon's most personal song as it talks about her insecurities and other struggles she went through.
I know this was a long video! Thanks for making it through the whole thing! I tried my best not to talk as much but I can't do reactions and stay quiet 🤣🤣🤣.
To answer your question about who ranked ahead of her in Unpretty Rapstar 3, Giant Pink was the winner with Nada as the first runner up. And yeah HyunA is pretty awesome.

Giant Pink won Unpretty Rapstar 3. Personally I think it's a fair decision because GP is definitely a good one to lose to in the sense you won't feel cheated if it happens. Check out GP's song "Mirror Mirror" she makes me think of a female version of Flowsik, she's got the deep sort of raspy voice, and really good flow.
