Falafel‘s are a super way to substitute for chicken and fish . Also making black bean burger patties to substitute a meat burger and finally if you blend roasted chickpeas and add chill oil and jalapeño peppers and unsweetened almond milk and blend to thick consistency it substitutes for cheese dip or make nacho cheese super delicious.
Ok. I had to comment again. Watching you serve your amazing plant based meal and Jon enjoying it, made my heart SO HAPPY. Sorry if that sounds cheesy but the world is truly changing and its magnificent to see.
Janni- I also watched documentaries about leaving meat and turning to plant based living at the beginning of summer and have been eating that way ever since. I feel SO much better. I eat all the fruits, all the vegetables, all the carbs from bananas and potatoes...etc. Not only have I lost weight, but my hair skin and nails all look incredible. I sleep so much better. My digestion is great. My mood is always happy. Don't get me wrong, I leave wiggle room for wine still.. but I am on the same page as you. It's so worth it.
I am vegan, so I think its awesome when anyone tries to change even one meal to plant based. As for low energy or hair falling out, I was told to make sure you are eating enough calories and you can try taking vitamins in case you arent getting enough in your food :) I follow tons of vegan youtube channels and that really helps me find recipe ideas.
Last time I didn't educate myself enough, so this time I'm reading more and not doing it like I did last time which was removing everything with protein almost haha! Xx
Sheridan Dyches Vit B12 is a very important vitamin that cannot be found in strict vegetarians, so it’s good to find substitutes. Vit B12 deficiency can lead to very severe diseases
I agree too. B12 is usually in the soil or grass, so animals eat it thats why its so much easier to find it in animal products, but I do agree it is important to get it in vitamins or fortified foods :)
God created animals to be eaten not to be stared at. Vegan is the most unhealthy diet on earth. Look up if people who live in the blue zones (100+ life expectancy) are Vegan. All meat eaters.
yes!!!!! So so so happy you decided to do this, I've been plantbased for almost a full year and it was the best decision I've ever made and also I highly recommend watching earthlings you learn so so much😊❤️🌱🌱🌱🌱
Janni, I have also watched those documentaries. I’m thankful that they have made me more conscious about where my food is from and it’s impact . I no longer eat dairy product because not only of the little health benefits but also the ethical practices of most dairy farms. But I do eat meat occasionally. But what I try to do is only eat organic . No parabins, hormones. I do not know if they have this brand in Marbella but it is called natures promise, huge industry in America. And I did a lot of research on them, not only are they all organic, but they have also encouraged most of their farmers to raise their meat as ethically and with the least environmental impact as possible . I live in rural America, in the heart of thousands of cattle , pig , chicken farms. What you don’t see when you choose not to buy meats are the families who are impacted by this. Everyday another farm is closed down and replaced by a warehouse. I don’t think people will ever stop eating meat. What is happening right now is a transformation from small family raised meat farms , to huge factory farms where the animals will be treated even worse. Its okay to eat meat, it’s an amazing source of protein and also b12, which fuels your bodies immune system. Be mindful of where your meat is coming from. Speaking of environmental impact , I watched a documentary recently that had more of an impact on me. Perhaps Janni, you can research into the impact of where clothing comes from, and what happens to clothing when it gets thrown away or donated. Unfortunately not one person can have a huge impact . But it is people like you and Jon that can start a movement.
Hi Janni! Realy love this vlog! good vibes and nice edit! You did such a nice job! The dressing is soo lovevly! I think you did the right choose on the hangers, best way to organise. Hope you do a vlog with one of your workouts in the gym you have there, would be nice to include in one of the vlogs! You guys look so happy married! Enjoy your summer days in Marbella!
Great vlog! @Janni for the chickpeas just try using olive oil and following spices: smoked paprika, tumeric, peper, salt, garlic powder. Finish it off with some lemon zest. Enjoy!
I recommend you using olive oil, you live in spain, there you have the best oil, you don't need to use coconut oil that comes from Southamérica, that is not very good for the environment And if you have problems with your vegetarían diet, that’s because you are doing something wrong
So excited for you to try this out! I went vegan a few years ago and my husband followed suit and became vegetarian. There is a substitute for everything! I’m sure you will find lovely recipes online, The Minimalist Baker is one of my favorites for good simple meals. Does Occa have vegan options? I’d love to see cooking videos in your beautiful new kitchen!
Hi Janni! You should look up Ellen Fishers' youtube channel! She lives in hawaii, is a mother of three super cute kids and they live completly PLANT BASED. Her recepes are amazing and she is so creative in finding delicious foods and ways to eat vegan! From warm meals like loaded chili french fries, burgers (for Jon) to cold dishes like amazing salads! You would love it!
Hi Janni, I absolutely adore you, and so happy you're going plant based. I've been eating plant based with raw honey for 9 years and never felt better. My skin and health have changed drastically, BUT it takes some commitment, and supplements to do this long term. Firstly, hair loss and low energy can happen when the body is detoxing, I recommend to go to get a b-12 shot or start taking sublingual b12 vitamin. Then there are the green for minerals and energy... juice green veggies or add spinach to smoothies...like a shit ton. These two things will help when your system starts to clean itself out. Otherwise if you focus on whole foods and little treats here and there you will feel amazing. I promise!! (I'm a holistic nutritionist in LA:)
You have made these vegetables very appetizing...they appear cooked to "al dente" and seasoned perfectly...the dish "shows" very nicely and as we all know....the enjoyment of eating also begins with the eyes...Yes! Nice plate presentation.....
Loved the plant based recipe.. can’t wait to try it out and let you know how it tastes. Would love to see more plant based recipes on your blog. I’m also trying to have a more plant based diet. Thanks for the video and insight
BIG UPS for trying veganism Janni & Jon!!! Best decision my wife & I have ever made! Jon you can still eat burgers pizza and burritos, just vegan versions! And they taste way better, are better for your heath and the environment, and best of all no animals had to die!! Much love from New Zealand 👍😃
The cooking tips/instructions for plant based food preperation was great, because the one thing Goggle dosn't have is Janni explaining the food preperation hahaha
Janni I'm really glad you made that choice! The same happened to me! In January I saw all the documentaries that I found and changed my diet completely! good for me and for the animals too! :D
I also use turmeric as one component when roasting the chickpeas - love how they give crunchiness to the salads! A tip to make Kale “nicer”- before playing it massage it with lemon juice - it gives a nice flavor and softens it up! :)
umpf, Rape seed oil is toxic because it contains significant amounts of a poisonous substance called erucic acid. And saturated fats are actually healthy fats contrary to popular belief. Dr. Weston A. Price conducted research on the foods of isolated healthy peoples whose diets were rich in animal fats, such as Australian aborigines and the Seminoles of the Florida Everglades. While the latest version of the USDA dietary guidelines states that saturated fats are empty calories, Price found animal fats provide vitamins that are key to human health, such as true vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin K and vitamin E. Dr. Price emphasized the role these fat-soluble vitamins play in increasing nutrient absorption. Because of this, Price dubbed these vitamins ‘activators.’ These fat-soluble vitamins are also necessary for hormone production, normal growth, neurological function, and protection against chronic disease such as cancer and heart disease.
In Germany, the erucic acid content in oils may not exceed 5%. That's set by law. I can not say how it is in other countries. although some vitamins are fat-soluble, they do not require any animal fat. Of 100 grams of coconut oil are 87 grams of saturated fatty acids. This makes coconut oil unhealthier than lard and clogs your heart. Rapeseed oil produced under German guidelines has 90% of unsaturated fatty acids and is therefore, after olive oil, the healthiest fat you can take. As with everything, it depends on the dosage. too much is not good, but too little is also not good. And I do not think anyone drinks 1 liter of rapeseed oil a day.
ok, but as I said before when it comes to saturated fats, they are really not the devil as popularly believed. A team of cardiologists cited reviews that show no association between intake of saturated fat and a greater risk of heart disease, in order to support their argument against the existence of artery-clogging saturated fat. "It is time to shift the public health message in the prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease away from measuring serum lipids and reducing dietary saturated fat," say the authors. Instead of focusing on lowering blood fats and cutting out dietary saturated fats, the importance of eating "real food," partaking in regular physical activity, and minimizing stress, should all be emphasized. www.bmj.com/company/newsroom/popular-belief-that-saturated-fats-clog-up-arteries-plain-wrong-say-experts/ Here's also a funny movie that debunks this myth about saturated fats supposedly clogging your arteries: th-cam.com/video/evcNPfZlrZs/w-d-xo.html
Hello, Janni! If you miss meat you can try to roast some pleurotus mushrooms! They are the best in flavour and have a lot of proteins, it really feels like you are eating meat. But after you wash them, be careful to dry them a little bit with some paper towels. They are good with some olive oil, salt and black pepper. Have a good day! Mari
Congratulations on your decision on going plant-based! I‘ve been vegan myself for three years now and would never go back. You’ll notice how much better you’re going to feel. Would love to see some more videos of you promoting the vegan lifestyle. 👍🏽❤️
Good job for trying!! I have been eating plant based for 2 years and I have never felt better! Thank you for doing this! One thing make sure to get a B12 supplement! Good luck, we are rooting for you!
Super happy that you decided to go plant based! It can be tough, but anything is possible if you are motivated and you know you are doing the right thing! The only thing you must bare in mind is to have vitamin B12 supplements (the only vitamin you can't find in plant based food), but as long as you have a very varied vegan diet, your health will be perfect and you will feel great! I would also recommend extra virgin olive oil for cooking. By the way, it feels so weird when I see you shopping in Mercadona! Bumping into you and Jon while doing the groceries would be so cool!
I’m plant based and I LOVE your decision. If you eat a variety of plants you will feel great. I suggest How Not to Die, by Michael Gregor. He also has a cook book!!!!
When I moved to Spain in 2007 I was vegan and it was sooo hard to be vegan 100%, but 100% wasn’t my goal, just to feel balanced and healthy and I didn’t want to deprive myself of delicious tapas. I would go to the herbalario to get veggie burgers and special products. But I love mercadona. They actually have this veggie deli meat, which sounds weird, but it’s really good, Go to the isle with meat in a package and they have this veggie sliced “meat” my technique for eating plant based was eat at home plant based and if I went out to eat a few times a week, I would eat things with egg like tortilla, and occasionally fish bc it’s everywhere. I’m also a big fan of patatas bravas and ensaladilla. Every region seems to make them a little bit different. I felt the healthiest of my life when I lived in Spain walking everywhere, lots of vitamin D, fresh food. Also, make a big gazpacho or salmorejo once a week in the summer, soooo good!!! Buen provecho Amiga!!! Besitos desde USA :)
This was actually a really really good vlog!!
I'm a vegan from Portugal, and loved to hear that you two are becoming vegan, I was already a subscriber of Jon Olson now I subscribed your channel. You'll be a lot healthier, and you will be a lot healthier, I'm vegan and I even roll frying pans with my own hands, etc, the strongest animals and the ones who live longer, are vegan. Hope you enjoy your vegan lifestyle. Bythe way, in Portugal and Spain we have excellent olive oil, try Portuguese Olive Oil, I use olive oil in everything, I usually use "Herdade do Esporão" but there are others. And for those who don't know, a vegan isn't a person that wants to feel superior, an ethical vegan is just a person that cares about animals, the world, nature, and at the same time knows how healthy it is to be vegan and shares that with others, nothing more. Welcome to the vegan comunity. :)
Janni I'm 100 % vegetarian a and one thing, the most important, it's practice meditation. It's align your energetic points and you don't feel tired anymore and you don't feel the necessity to eat animal protein again. ☺ Everything is energy. Keep the balance right.
Hej Janni! 😘
I study in Spain for a few months and I also shop from Mercadona, haha. Those vegan burgers are really good. You can also try yogurt from Alpro, you can find them in Carrefour or Bonpreu. They are sooooo good, different flavours! Good luck, I am also trying to go vegan as I am a vegetarian for some time. Hugs! ❤
had to stop the video for a second after I heart that u r becoming vegan and I am so happy to hear this news, I am alos vegan myself since 3 years, for health, environement but especially for animals.Good job Janni!
Kolla in "What the health" på/från Netflix: Har fått mig att ändra om kosten helt, vill helst laga allt från grunden själv så man vet vad fan man får i sig. Bra val!!
Janni, my advice. I removed all dairy products from my food for a while, and as a result, I'm now lactose allergy and can not eat or drink dairy products. My wife is gluten and wheat allergies so it's quite challenging for us to eat out or with friends.
Just popping in to say "Hi!". I really am so fond of you and Jon. I am from South Africa (currently living in Cape Town - for university) - I watch your videos primarily because it's always so refreshing to get some perspective on how people from other parts of the world live. You are so authentic and such a down-to-earth girl and I think that's one of the reasons I continue to watch. You and Jon are such simplistic humans who enjoy experiencing the world (both the spectacular and the mundane) together - too cute! I especially love the fashion videos 😭 May you please give us a more in-depth video on your closet - kind of like a casual favourites. Also, I would love to hear about your college/university experience. Also (😂😂 I'm doing a lot 😂😂) I would love to hear what your plan for the future is in terms of your career and you family. Also, who/what do you look at for fashion inspiration? Also, how did you and Jon manage to budget for the 2 most fundamental expenses of your life - a wedding and building a home- all happening at once, couldn't be easy. Lastly, you guys should definitely come visit South Africa 💓 Thanks for letting us into a glimpse of your life, it's really refreshing to come across authentic human-beings on TH-cam. Stay sweet, stay cute ✨
So excited for every new video!😍😍 Some weeks ago I said that I will visit Marbella because of you and you said you hope I will like it as much as you do - and what should I say... it was AMAZING!😍 Visited the Fresh Food Cafe, the Organic Cold Pressed Juicery, Celisioso, Playa Padre and soo much more😋 Your tips were the best! I also stood in front of Occo but didn‘t want to wait for you like a little fangirl haha🙈 But wanted to see you sooo bad😭 I will visit Marbella next year again, new chance to see you haha🙈 U guys are the best! Keep up the great work☺️ Greetings from Austria🤗🤗
Janni please please please keep an eye on your lovely delicate skin ie the big freckles, that’s what I thought I had, just big freckles, but alas 3 turned nasty and yes became cancerous, too much sun and this was at 24 years old !! Some 32 years ago now , I still adore the sun but sensible now. The eating plan ? Never easy to exist upon purely plant life ! It becomes a task rather than a pleasure to eat. Anyway enough lectures, great to see you two so happy in your new house and new marriage. Xx
I feel like I wouldn't get full from that, which means I need to add more to the plate , Janni . have you changed the portions here now since you are eating a week of plant based .. I would like to see a week worth of notes on how you felt about it , any changes , are you excising more ? are you eating more ? thanks !
Hello Ms Janni. I have been watching alot of Jon vblogs. So i sub to u n love ur vblogs.. This lunch looked very nice n yummy. U n Jon r veey nice n love watching both of u on vlogs. God bless u both
another nice vlog again! love to see something else, Chef Janni :) food looks great btw and lets hope you inspired some people to also start eating healthy! and that kitchen looks like O M G... hope you, Jon, Rickard and the rest of your family will have a nice rest of the summer!
You're sooooo right to want to eat plant based, Janni, that's the best for body and earth💖 👍👍👍🌱🌱🌱🌎🌎🌎 you find EVERY macro and micro nutrients in plants and seeds and veggies and fruits 😃 and this is so respectful for our planet and animals 👍 Did you know that 10,000 l of water are needed for the elaboration of a single steak 😨😲 (i.e. water for rising the corn that feeds the cow + water for the cow + water for the machinery ....) well, one disaster among others in our modern way of eating with mass production 😢 Cheers 😘
Well, cows are not supposed to eat corn, and we are not either. And chickens are carniwores, which means that they eat bugs and worms and not corn. Just look at the difference between the eggs of corn fed chicken and insect fed chicken. We are what we eat, but we are also what our food eats.
Plant based doesn't work for everybody especially in the long run, if you can't go 100% plant/vegan, its ok to eat a bit of animals products. Remember that : by reducing animal product you are already doing your part.
YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST TOGETHER...I WISH YOU GUYS ALL THE BEST.

Loved the cooking bit! Keep us updated on your plant based food journey👌🏼

Nice natural look, it's great not being obsessed with make-up 24/7!! Rock it Janni!!
Great vlog! @Janni for the chickpeas just try using olive oil and following spices: smoked paprika, tumeric, peper, salt, garlic powder. Finish it off with some lemon zest. Enjoy!

Olive oil is very good for salad but for cooking best coconut oil or avaocado !
Actually for cooking the good ol' sunflower oil or rapeseed oil are the best :)
It's best to cook without oil, because with heating the oil turns into a carcinogen(
Cooked oil is carcinogenic
Metabolic Syndrome no! Olive oil no! It's carcinogenic if you use it more than 180c for a long time period, otherwise it doesn t!

I also totally recommend Ellen Fisher, also if you are interested Monami Frost, she is also vegan.I'm so proud of you Janni, good job again!
Liv B has a great channel for Vegan/plant-based food as well!
Yeah I love Ellen Fischer too! Sarah Lemkus as well!
I second that. I have her recipe book. Her nachos are amazing. You feel like you’re eating real nachos!!

Here's also a funny movie that debunks this myth about saturated fats supposedly clogging your arteries: th-cam.com/video/evcNPfZlrZs/w-d-xo.html
I always love your vlogs! You're doing a really good job.
Mari
Janni, mmmmmh a food vlog. 👍 Now I'm faiting to see you and Jon growing your own vegetables. 😉
Wow is c'est normal only 2 years old! Crazy how quick time goes!! Love the vlogs!!
More plant based cooking vlogs!! Love it and really need the inspiration
Oh I really appreciate your vlogs! I would love to se more videos off what you are going to do with the closet.
Closet of my dreams! I love Jannis clothing style so much. Wish I could get dressed by her onetime!
Buen provecho
Amiga!!! Besitos desde USA :)
Yasssss Janni go plant based, more recipes :)
This was actually a really really good vlog!!
Nice and healthy love it, don't know how I haven't ever bumped into you guys!
I LOVE the camera quality! You should do a morning routine Marbella edition :D
More cooking with janni pleeaaassee!!❤️
Janni I'm 100 % vegetarian a and one thing, the most important, it's practice meditation. It's align your energetic points and you don't feel tired anymore and you don't feel the necessity to eat animal protein again. ☺ Everything is energy. Keep the balance right.
Hej Janni! 😘
love the food bits, looks sooo good x
I loved this video! So fresh and with a clear and necessary message!
Bra val!!
Awww the doggie hi5 was so cute 😍😍
Love the wardrobe room. So cute!! Girl cave haha
Janni, my advice. I removed all dairy products from my food for a while, and as a result, I'm now lactose allergy and can not eat or drink dairy products. My wife is gluten and wheat allergies so it's quite challenging for us to eat out or with friends.
love ur blogs jank u r the best!!! 😘
Happy Birthday Jon!!!
Lastly, you guys should definitely come visit South Africa 💓
Thanks for letting us into a glimpse of your life, it's really refreshing to come across authentic human-beings on TH-cam. Stay sweet, stay cute ✨
Loved this VLOG! And especially the length, keep it up :) ❤️
Dream closet! It’s beautiful.
i looooove your wardrobe room, wish i had this much space 💗💜💛
aw that puppy, so happy. makes me soo puppy broody 💗
Oh wow, I'm so glad to hear you liked all those places! :D They're my favorites! :-)) Hopefully we'll see each other next year sweetie! Xx
Xx
You think the cow think it's pleasurable getting their throats slit? Asking for a friend.
Sun doesn't cause cancer, Sunscreen causes cancer.
Maybe you can convince Jon for becoming vegan, if you tell him that e.g. Oreos are vegan, too...
Good choice! Give it a try 👍👍
I feel like I wouldn't get full from that, which means I need to add more to the plate , Janni . have you changed the portions here now since you are eating a week of plant based .. I would like to see a week worth of notes on how you felt about it , any changes , are you excising more ? are you eating more ?
thanks !

Love these daily vlogs
another nice vlog again! love to see something else, Chef Janni :) food looks great btw and lets hope you inspired some people to also start eating healthy! and that kitchen looks like O M G... hope you, Jon, Rickard and the rest of your family will have a nice rest of the summer!

I loveee your vlogs, you inspire me sooo much!
Yay go Yanni!! You seems really down to earth and like you actually care about the planet and animals. People really admire that :)))
You look more beautiful 😊❤️and I love your VLOGS my favorite JANNI 🙏🏼😍
Hey Janni! Could you ask Jon what brand of glasses he's wearing at the start of the Vlog? The clear prescription ones. Thanks very much!
Just curious who's doing the washing :D !
Splendt UK probably janni
Nice to see you again.
more cooking! I love it!
You're sooooo right to want to eat plant based, Janni, that's the best for body and earth💖 👍👍👍🌱🌱🌱🌎🌎🌎
you find EVERY macro and micro nutrients in plants and seeds and veggies and fruits 😃 and this is so respectful for our planet and animals 👍 Did you know that 10,000 l of water are needed for the elaboration of a single steak 😨😲 (i.e. water for rising the corn that feeds the cow + water for the cow + water for the machinery ....) well, one disaster among others in our modern way of eating with mass production 😢
Cheers 😘
Well, cows are not supposed to eat corn, and we are not either. And chickens are carniwores, which means that they eat bugs and worms and not corn. Just look at the difference between the eggs of corn fed chicken and insect fed chicken. We are what we eat, but we are also what our food eats.
Plant based doesn't work for everybody especially in the long run, if you can't go 100% plant/vegan, its ok to eat a bit of animals products. Remember that : by reducing animal product you are already doing your part.
By eating proper meat your doing more good. Become a hunter or buy your meat from your local hunter, it's better than anything else.
But it’s still not good for your body, even if you shot the animal yourself..?
eating meat doesn't mean not healthy.
Actually there is evidence that processed meat consumption has been strongly linked to a higher risk of stomach cancer.
so its not about meat its more about "processed".
Where is your red bracelet from? I keep wondering and I saw that Jon was also wearing one. Love them and I think they look great with everything!
Superdeilig vlog!! Fortsett med det
that's quite a wardrobe...enjoyed the video!
Älskar matlagningsdelen 😍😍
