Big admiration for Ethan he is a rock solid guy, determined to get the work done, never complains, (like he is building the silage pit in the cold and no cab) very knowledgable when it comes to spanners and with animals. A great guy!(hats off to all your family also)
We get to cover our pits in summer and yes it is not a nice job so covering in November has to be really tough.
Glad you have all safely gathered in, enough for your livestock. Also a big thank you to your neighbour for the use of his wagon, you would be lost without it. Happy farming ☘️

The most labor intensive job of all, is the covering. I hate when the tires splash the water that is lodged in them.
Always a time to celebrate when this is done. Ye are one fantastic and united team.
    Take a big bow!!

Yes, the water is the worst! Or maybe it's worst when it's ice in the tire... Thanks for watching!!

This has been a good example to non farmers of how a normally enjoyable farm job can turn into weeks of miserable work .Like these folks you might as well face your day with a smile and use your experience and ingenuity to deal with the situation as best you can. A loving son climbs in to help
Mom back the wagon up; and gets to be with her, and in the video to tease you. So pleased with you the crops are in. Then the tarping!! A million tires! Most folks dont know they are heavy and awkward. Then do it for hours straight.
All the crop work plus 3 hours in the AM and again in evening milking. Long arduous days.
Still love the music while tarping that you use. Acres family! Have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving. Who gets to milk twice that day and feed the herd?
    LOVE these videos!!!

OK, Now I understand your wet Ground, Never heard of Seepy Sand before , But makes good since now that I have heard Kevin's explanation, Plus I did not know that you have had that much rain, Need a Boat ? LOL
Oh How I hated rolling out tarps to cover our Bunk Silage. our bunks were all under cover. and Tires, Oh how I hated tires. We had four that were 500 ft. long, Two at the main farm and two at the Heifer barn. At the main Farm, The hay loft was on the Milking parlor side of the barn and we could put a Million bales of hay up there, The old barn was used for Straw for the calf pens. I would say at the peak of our milking we had around 1000 head of Holstein cows, Milked from 375 to 400, the rest were Calf's and Heifers .

Thats a good demonstration of how do you have fun on the farm your working. City people don't get it and especially the part where a successful job done and time to have a little fun that's where you see some outstanding parents you both are working and having some fun had to smile seeing that truck going up the pile.
When the amish moved in around here they talked of bin wagons everyone was like what are those they were gravity boxes . amish tend to make things difficult a skiddy is a skid loader . but your right to most of us it's a gravity box. This Sunday you'll have a reason to be thankful harvest done and every one can still count to ten when you put the hours in you do accidents can happen so easy

They are hard to back up. When the hitch is tucked in so close and there is a bit of slack in the steering linkage it is a challenge. its all about how you line it up when you are driving forward in the first place.

    Rhonda
This is just a question and suggestion
Because I drive a Tractor trailer sometimes I have to jack the tractor around so the trailer is at a right angle to the tractor,
Now, do the front wheels on the dump cart turn or are they stationary and only the tongue turns?
If the wheels are stationary, would it be possible to Jack the challenger to the right so the dump cart is at a right angle to the challenger, then maybe Ethan can back along side of the dump cart without hitting the dual tires on the challenger?
This may be a little more time consuming, I was just curious

Congrats on ur successful silage harvest!! Happy Thanksgiving!! Not ever being on a farm, I had to google why u cover the silage.....After understanding the 'why' part, is there an 'easier' method for covering the silage?? Even google mentioned the poly cover w/ tires....The tire thing is just to close to 'work'!!!
