I too stayed here when I was 11 or so in 1986. One of my very happiest memories is of sitting in the parkland/golf course behind the hotel with my dad one night, watching shooting stars.
Thanks you so much for this vid, I am from tahiti, and spent wonderfull moments in this hotel during my childhood and youth, It hurts me to see that this wondetrfull place is abandoned and nowadays closed to the public, there was a huge park with tennis court and it was free access to the public, for a cheap 12 $ hamburger & fries meal you could access facilities like swimming pool, jacuzzi, artificial swimming pool beach, ect. Today i ve a child and she ll probably never get to know this site, which is in my opinion the most breathtaking site in Tahiti and maybe in the world. What a shame. I always wanted to get inside the property but it is guarded by security staffs and dogs, i guess you tip them some money to get inside.

I was watching a classic game show called “ Press your luck” and one of the prizes was a trip to Tahiti and this hotel was where the winner would stay! This what brought me here to see how it looks now. How sad to see it abandoned. Only a faded memory 😞

OMG , having stayed at this Hotel on 2 occasions, its heartbreaking to see such a beautiful place, once full of life, abandoned in these conditions. So sad.
Il y avait différents restaurants, à différents endroits...les personnes pouvaient se mettre tranquille dans un coin... un petit bar sympa, des petites boutiques..... il y avait un grand bateau restaurant.... c’était vraiment le plus bel hôtel, très animé... C’est dommage qu’ils ont fermé.... Pour différentes raisons, complexe...il y a eut une bataille et des choses aussi pas jolie.......
