Fun fact about the old-school Zelda, if you intentionally leave one enemy on the screen (Zoras don't count, they always respawn), that screen will never respawn to full strength, making it possible to almost completely de-populate the world of enemies.

Back in the 90s, before internet was big, I used to draw maps and label different areas of the dungeons with a key like i = item or w/e and use them to learn were everything was. It was so fun. It's a shame that future generations will never be able to experience that kind of joy, of not knowing or being able to just google where something is.

I'm currently 25. When I was a kid, my parents took my wii out into the living room and cranked this whole game out together, and I was awestruck. Not only had I tried and failed to play myself because it was too hard, but I couldn't believe that they knew about all of these crazy hidden locations, especially after it'd been so many years since they'd played last!

I can't claim to remember offhand if that's true, but this is an HD pack running in an emulator using the rev0 NES ROM. I'd be surprised if they altered the game engine like that.
EDIT: actually after paying attention there are clearly some dynamically patched in QoL hacks included with this. Not sure why they would have modified the enemy respawn though, weird.

A single person can do this with modern game engines. Esay. So I dont get why Nintendo cant run such little side-projects instead of badly implementation of emulation.
Probably one of the most easy "to recreate" games nowadays.

@@jamesdixon6332 Only thing I can come up with is the player paused the recording session, got the white sword off camera, and reentered and exited the dungeon before resuming recording. It's not unheard of for those recording gameplay to cut out unnecessary bloat so the viewers don't have to waste time watching certain parts.

I wished there were instructions on getting this to work. When I tried, only a few things worked such as the alttp sword swing and minor graphical differences. They did not look like the video and the music also did not work. I have read the instructions, but they never do it detailed enough and I don't see why. I've had issues with other games that had this remaster, and still nothing. Can you please have something in here that explains in a "how to" description? I've tried even the mesen ones for Zelda alttp with the hd audio, graphical differences, etc and no one ever responded..and after a few years one would give up. It would help us a lot, we want to enjoy this the way it is on the video.

Technically, Nintendo could just use the same engine that they used on the latter of the two sequels to A Link to the Past, namely, the second one that they call A Link Between Worlds.
