      @@larrycaballero3112 Hollytone is a good organic fertilizer that acts semi quickly. Id recommend it as a good organic fertilizer.
      Coffee grounds won’t hurt but I wouldn’t rely on just it as a fert source.
      Egg shells are more of a base and won’t help your Ph.

    I adopted my cousin's O'Neal Highbush Southern Blueberry who moved from SoCal to TN. I put it in a weather proofed half wine barrel. Now that it has settled in, I'm getting blueberries 2 years later. I find that pine needles as mulch is working!

    We’ve had issues with growing new blueberry bushes on our property. I was watching a blueberry farmer that said he put pine bark mulch in the planting hole With all his plants. So we tried that with our new bushes and so far they are looking great. I hope it continues. He also said that down here in the deep south they seem to do better with a little bit of afternoon shade so we took that into consideration as well. We have one large bush that was here when we bought the property thank goodness. It has produced like crazy so I know we can grow them here. I just haven’t been able to.

    Nice video. But a question. They need acidic soil to thrive , however aren't most potting mixes more or less neutral?. Is using elemental sulfur as an amendment enough in the longrun ? • @Nancy-zk9dj
      @Nancy-zk9dj ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've had several blueberry plants in bags for 5 years, Zone 5. Before winter I move the bags to a corner of the garden, tight together and up against the fence. I pack leaf mulch all around--between bags and fence, about a foot thick all around and over the top. Last year I didn't get the tops all covered, but in the early spring, the buds started popping out! ❤

    Blueberries are the most difficult berry bush. Raspberries are a thousand times easier and grow way faster. Currants, elderberries and gooseberries are better. Strawberries are better.
