Reaves played terrible on both sides of the ball. For two seasons, the Lakers have tried this experiment to play him as a point guard. He’s NOT a good ball handler, especially under pressure. The occasional behind the back dribble or pass that excites fans can’t make up for all the turnovers that he makes in that role. The Lakers need a “real” point guard (who can also play defense) so Austin can play his natural 2-guard role.
When is Rob Pelinka gonna realize Austin Reaves is not the option? Has anyone noticed this guy CAN'T dribble that good!! Why are the Lakers holding on this overrated bum?
Austin played well despite the turnovers. I would say overall the entire team could have made a play here or there that changed the outcome, but they really did play a good game of basketball other than the tos. Shot it well, had bench production, rebounded, got to the line, played good half court defense particularly when Davis was on the floor, had a Bron takeover late. That wasn't a bad game overall. Bad game with the turnovers, but the Pistons have now scored over 100 points of turnovers in the past 3 games. Gotta give them credit too. They've done the same to 3 straight opponents. Allow this to be a learning experience for teams that play aggressive on traps and passing lanes. The season is made to get better. Grow and keep going!
i thought i was a decent game too people so quick to hate but its still pretty early in the season there are gonna be games where you just get out played and the guards for the pistons just outplayed us
Reaves has his flaws just like any nba player. But he is the only third option that actually shows up. He needs to clean up the turnovers but geesh we can’t win it all. We win some we lose some. Move foward and improve on your mistakes
He is admirable that he is willing to admit a bad game. But What's the point of blaming one one person for one game? Just win the next one. AR played well dispite the turnovers... Imo he should be shooting the ball not passing in the ball that last possession.
More like the 8th man on the bench. Imagine him on the Celtics or the Thunder. Dude went undrafted for a reason and the Lakers haven’t won close to anything with him on the roster. Pritchard > Reaves by a mile.
@@Xavier_Breaking_Bad oh for sure completely agree. I’m not even a Lakers fan. So I hardly even know of Austin. I just see highlights and interviews of him. I don’t know he just seems like a class act in his personal life.
Bro if they are gonna blitz you off the pick n roll they you should know the backside is gonna be wide open. Just back out the double and make the skip pass or hit the short roll. Common AR. You are better than thiss.
You make it sound easy😂 i get at its core its a simple game of putting the ball in the hoop. But lets be real he doesn’t have true Pg skills which is what he was asked to have tonight and other games this season. And crazy thing is I love AR too i wish he wasnt put in this position by JJ and the staff
You absolutely didn't watch the full game. Austin was a turnover machine tonight. And not just regular turnovers, but turnovers at half court leading directly to fast break layups. His carelessness was a huge part of keeping Detroit in the game, especially 1st half. Lakers were shooting 60% at the half, but only up by 2 in large part due to him. His plus minus had nothing to do with him playing well, and he's doing the right thing taking accountability.

Still pretending to be a point guard. This must be some of that genius understanding of the game that JJ and his Bron have in action.

He is trying to HiM #3 by trying to compete against DLO and be Superman…Someone needs to realize Reaves is not a team player

This dude cannot handle ball pressure. He should either be on the bench or traded period.
well, he isn't a point guard, so there's that.
@ I’m very aware of that but not the lakers
Turnover Machine😂
Seems to have off games. Maybe stop playing golf and focus on your next opponent. Should’ve seen this coming from Detroit.

At least he admits he played terrible.
he had the whole second half to fix it and remained the same
That's what the Lakers will gain because the GM is stubborn and doesn't want to trade because the Lakers are strong and the Lakers are funny.
A competent team would have this man slotted as at least a 6th option off the bench

He's attitude becoming as if an ace Lakers players. You have to stay low and make focus in your improvement.
Most overrated player in the league and it’s not even close.
It was ARs fault because his team mates were wide open but he did not want to pass the ball.

I love Austin, but he needs to be more careful with the ball.
For sure he’s really a great player even though I’m only going off of highlights. Not sure if he should be in that category of “ball handler.”
@TheAndokid1 he's decent, but there's a lot of room for improvement on ball handling
