    Looks amazing. I just received 4 spools. 1 is already taken apart and ready to make into my kitchen table. How or did you remove the nails and all out of the top. I have looked at the one i have and it almost looks impossible without cutting them out? Thanks for your inspiration and information!

      Hey Candice, I did not remove the nails, like you said they are impossible to remove, what I did is I drove the ones that were sticking out in and I sanded the top many of the nails also got sanded smooth with the top ! Good luck with you project I hope it comes out awsome!

      Oh, okay. Thank you soooooo much for the insight and for responding so quickly. My husband told me they were NOT coming out. Lol. I thought about beating any ones sticking up in, but didn't realize the sanding would help with it too. Thank you again!!

      Lucy I used Dark Walnut #269 stain from Varathane.

      Thank you!! Did you apply it with a cloth? Mine came out way darker than expected.

      I did! and same here I wanted a little lighter it matches our couches a little too much ! It feels that I can never get the stains right!
