And today again, as many days, MDR hit the tenderest spots in my admiring psyche and then there came this 'Dhanyasi'. For a moment, I wondered whether I was caught on stage between the 'ponnani' (lead-singer) and 'sankidi' (accompanying singer) of a Kathakali performance when they are singing a 'pathinja padam' (pieces in extremely slow and measured in rhythm usually so intensely intricate with literary vocalisation structures) in some story. The way MDR brings out the meaning from text is for the generations to come to stay in awe and listen over and over to try to imbibe into their education of listening. Thank you!!!

It is rare to hear Sangeeta jnanamu in chouka kaala. Ragaalapana is simply exquisite.

I do not know how to thank you adequately for these gems you are uploading.I too used to record AIR concerts of MD Sir in the 80s,and later converted the tapes into CDs, but not stationed in Madras, and the AIR broadcast quality being what it was, the results were not satisfactory. Considering all that , not only is your coverage extensive, but the quality is also very good. You are rendering great service -something institutions should be doing. This is splendid work We are very grateful.
