Man Yuto is so humble and grounded even after all his massive success on a global stage. Most in his position would be chillin now just kicking back and enjoying the fame and fortune, but Yuto is still searching for more and building confidence. It's a reminder no one has it all figured out, we are all human. Can't wait to see what Yuto does next he is such a great ambassador for skateboarding.
I haven't seen a lot of interviews of Yuto, but I'm an even bigger fan after this one. Even after winning gold in the Olympics, he still has high expectations for himself and remains humble which is admirable.
Thank god Yuto won the gold lol. Nothing against anyone else but this guy seems to be a really good representation for skateboarding on a global level without all the antics skaters be on just to be relevant on IG
The thing about IG is everybody wants to go viral and have their little clout boost by thrasher. When the pros know skateboarding is about hard work and dedication thats why the skaters in sls are so good and theirs always someone new coming up. Yuto is dedicated to skateboarding and i see him as the real yuto. Not the hyped up yuto
Yuto has already accomplished what most people would call a dream, so I can understand his confusion of where to go from there...to dream "bigger" than the biggest dream? to be "better" than being the best? It can drive the most gifted insane to aspire to achieve what is unknown. All the best to his journey, and it's easy for me to say "no pressure" when everyone is watching with their own imagined expectations. He doesn't have to live anyone's dream but his own.
There is a certain point that you reach when you have been focused so much on training, that you almost forget who you are and what else you are supposed to do...that part hit hard!
you are a person who has achieved their dreams. we always have struggles throughout our journey of finding glory and even after we pursue what we wanted, what do we do next? i even have trouble of what i am doing, especially when i am not working towards my goals
A while back I had a similar feeling. Like I was lost, and it was affecting my skating and life outside of it. What helped me was I started focusing on my life outside of skating more. As a skater, for years... skating was the only lens that I saw the world through. I only knew myself as a skateboarder, and almost every trait I claimed to have would be a direct tie-back to trait of my skateboarding. So when my skating changed, it almost fucked up my whole world view. Might sound dumb at first, but it makes sense if you think about it. I believe Marc Johnson had an interview a long time ago where he discusses a similar idea, but anyway. To be clear, when I say "focus more on other things in your life" I don't mean not necessarily skating less... just paying more attention to the goings on around me, what I liked, what I didn't, how certain things made me feel, being open to new things I didn't have an opinion on. Basically, just consciously making a mental note of my feelings about things. I also tried out some new hobbies... got into video cameras (because of skating), which led me to computer tech, which led me to gaming, which led me to comedy... and before I knew it, I had all of these other hobbies and interests that I didn't know I liked. In turn, I began to notice patterns in things that I liked and things that I didn't... which made the reason why I'm skater all the much clearer. Eventually, albeit slowly, I got to a place where I could confidently express who I was when a skateboard wasn't involved, which only strengthened my bond with skateboarding... because I now knew EXACTLY which parts of skating fueled me over others. Everyone is different, sure... but looking at the bigger picture of myself, is what made me realize the WHY's for everything in my life. Once I knew the WHY's, I didn't feel lost anymore. BTW - not what I expected to see when I clicked on this, but enjoyed it nonetheless.
Wow what a big message from yuto. We all think Skateboarders super happy and dream your Dream life . In this video in this video he somehow shows me the opposite❤ thanks yuto for your openness
Yeah it’s crazy how there’s so little views on it but we gotta remember that skateboarding doesn’t have crazy fanatic fans as much as other traditional sports
Great video Nike. And to the amazing humble Yuto, You're not lost. Be patient and take your time. You're still so young. Cherish the moment every single day and take a day by a day. Enjoy life and keep on pushing! 🛹🥰
its all about the journey just have fun if ur lost and just know the advance in skateboarding it is what u can always be remember for is pastsing down skill and technique, plz speak on the power of feel when skating and emotion

I'm pretty sure he's already done shit that's never been done by anyone else before... Dude just needs to have fun on the board, that alone will automatically lead him to a natural progression of changing the game entirely...

A part of me didn’t want this video to end. There was some sort of peace and serenity to it.
Humbleness. That’s what got me. I LOVE this new generation of Japanese skaters. So much talent. The women and the men.
The editing and the music a long with Yuto's calm introspective thoughts matched so well. It was almost ASMR.
