Do I need to have the GPS mount to have parking mode automatically enable on the Vantrue N4 or would it work automatically when I enable parking mode through the menu of the dashcam?
No movement after five minutes, it goes into parking mode. So if you are driving but sitting somewhere long enough, it will go into parking mode. You don’t have to hold the “M” button to go into parking mode but it acts as a manual override vs. waiting five minutes.
In my case Parking mode while driving doesn't work as expected. Video clips are very short - just a few seconds-. These clips are inicated with _N_ in file name instead of _P_ meaning that the GPS has detected the movement and changed to normal mode but the durations are not 3 mins as Loop setting should impose. EDIT: Problem solved. The rear camera caused it. The 3.5mm jack was loosely connected to the short cable of the rear camera. I pushed it firmly and secured with tape and now all files N, P and A, B, C have proper size and time length and crystal clear content.
So because it works in drive mode to, is it safe to say it’s better to just turn on parking mode and leave it there. As opposed to turning it on and off?

@@sivartee it’s easier to plug it to the computer in case of troubleshooting but in theory you don’t need to plug it to a pc. Just put update files in your sd card and it should recognise the files and update itself

If it’s not hard wired and it is wired via 12volt will parking mode work, will the camera activate if collision mode and motion detection was turned on? Will only some 12volt plug-in(in other words some cars) turn the camera on and some not when parked? What about a portable rechargeable battery bank/pack, will the camera go into a low voltage mode since it detects the car not moving(in other words in parking mode)?
Great video. My issue is that the blue LED light just keeps on recording, meaning a constant blinking blue light. Does this light ever go solid or is this normal blinking constantly?

Yes. Something is wrong, I believe the camera was not correctly connected to the fuse that keeps the power flowing when the car engine is off. Before installing mine, I measured the power I’m the fuse box to find the fuses that are still on when the car is off.

The LCD turns Off to save battery... but the camera should be on if you enabled Parking mode it will record when motion is detected. Are you sure the power comes from a fuse that provides power even when the car's engine is off?
Hi good video, does anyone know if all 3 cameras have infra red option?. Videos need VLC player to work on a computer but how do you get them to play once transfered to view on a phone? as currently they are frozen on my samsung and don't play which kind of defeats the point if you can't give video footage to someone else for evidence?

@@SmartDevicesChannel you cant use whatever, you need a fuse that stays on and dont belong to a critical system of the car, like abs or stuff like that. The car manual should have the fuses identified by system
I’m sorry you don’t like it. I have it for many years and it’s the best one had so far. I live I Florida and still this camera works fine with a lot of sim hitting it daily. I had to use a footage from an incident once and it was there, so I could present the proof to the insurance company. I’ve try other cameras but none are as good as this one. It may look garbage for you, but for me is quite the opposite.

If you connect the DashCam to the FuseBox, then the power will be always ON (assuming you choose the right connector). the DashCam will then record in Parking Mode when there's no car movement (the GPS can let the camera know that) So when there's motion in front of the Dash Camera or somebody bumps into the car you will have the recordings.
Excellent video and details! Nothing stopping someone from stealing the card and camera, though.

It works automatically when you turn the car off if you hardwire it. No GPS mount needed.
GPS sensor detect no movement and it assumes you are parked, goes into parking mode

my camera starts recording much later after the motion was detected. Vantrue T3, any idea how to set it to start recording earlier?

There's a Red Dot on that bottom left side that keeps blinking to indicate that is recording. I don't recall a blue LED blinking.

Go to the option parking mode and go down the Menu to the bottom. There is the last point to turn it off

The interior camera gives you a good look at what goes on to the sides of your car. Not entirely a side view but good for identifying who hit you

Yes, as long as there motion, the camera can record. It just stays in stanby mode waiting.

No, it can't send notifications.
And it doesn't have WIFI at all. Their E class cameras do. E3 I believe is the 3channel with WifI and some smart options.

Vantrue sells a obd2 harness that you simply plug into the odb2 port . its very simple and better than hardwiring
I just read the manual and it actually says to long press the m button to enter parking mode, but you need a power bank 🤪
This camera is hot to the touch and doesn’t go into park mode, it just stays on. Most garbage dash I e ever seen.
