I LOVE my 330!! A fireglo one just like yours came through my shop here in Hawaii and I bought it immediately. They’re such unique instruments and have such a surprising amount of versatility. For my purposes, I actually prefer the more modern pickups - which is weird thing to say as a vintage guitar nerd who prefers low output pickups. I’m mainly a Jazzmaster player and I’ve always noticed in forums that a lot of JM guys also love the 330. It makes sense to me now. There’s just something about them that makes them “related”. (Probably the high gain single coils and long length of string behind the bridge.”
You should try HB1 pickups RIC makes. It's the best of modern and vintage tone. A new wiring harness is a must. I modded my 320 with HB1 (all positions) with new harness. Safe to say it's my favorite Ric ever.
At one time the name was spelled Rickenbacher and pronounced bocker. They changed the spelling and pronunciation to sound more American. If you are a Boomer you're more likely to pronounce it bocker. It's one of those things where either pronunciation is acceptable. There's a story about it out there somewhere.
