I think that had Nip pulled Eric to the side, away from others and had the conversation in full privacy whilst repeatedly reassuring Eric that he is neutral on the matter that maybe Eric would have felt less indignation towards Nip. Its conjecture on my part but I do think that it is feasible that envy and jealousy played a role on Eric’s part. In the community and rap career wise, Nip was everything that Eric probably aspired to be, I imagine that it bothered him to some extent, shouting “You’re done!” before shooting Nip seems indicative of that to me.
