A GD350 has an amazing display & my negative PROTREK is super clear too. Why casio?!?!?!?
They should have just used a mip display. Instead the slapped two lcd screens above each other, which seems to me like a trick from the 1960’s. Adding to it’s thickness.
@@WesternRAM Memory In Pixel - like latest g-shocl g-squad, or Garmin watches. Beautiful and readable.
@@Serbithar beautiful and legible but, functionally lacking. They just aren’t fast enough to show 100ths of a second. And to me, when you use a stopwatch or timer, it’s a Gshock thing to me to be able to have that.
@@bkstarkey How many ppl need 100ths of seconds on stopwatch? I am a runner, I do need a stopwatch with many memory lap. Interval timer is a nice add on, although not necessary. 100ths of a second are useless, unless you are an olympic athlete, but then I guess someone else count your times. READABLE display is a must. I am using Garmin Fenix now. My backup watch is GDB 800 8ER. MIPs are the way to go and the future! Going from LCD to MIP we sacrifice very little and gain a lot.
@@Serbithar I don’t disagree by any stretch. “Need” no. It’s just a g shock think for me. And to be fair, the MIP watches keep track of 100s, they just can display it. I’m just saying that there’s no reason to abandon traditional negative displays. There are some that love and hate both. Honestly, my biggest MIP gripe is that most of them are on watches paired with Casio’s terrible app.
Just got the green one today. The negative display is pretty good. Readable in most lighting conditions. Glad i bought it.
Awesome review and unboxing!!! where did you get that GWG-2000 mod?
Nice review of the new Mudman which I kind of like because its not monster size. But that display, what is point of a display that you cant read the time and as soon as you tilt the watch it looks blank. I will have a look at the positive display version if there is one.
I’m still rocking my gw-9330b mudman from 2013. It has negative display too, but next watch I won’t be getting a negative display unless it’s MIP. I’m looking for a new g-shock. I might wait until there’s a new updated rangeman model.
So now we are waiting for a full review😁💪💪💪💪
It looks awesome on your wrist!
But yeah the screen just isn't for me. I'll wait for more MIP or ana dogi models.
I love the look of the ggb100 but the fixed strap angle is way too big for my 6.5 inch wrist. There's too much of a gap.
Love how you modified your gwg 2000
Would love to have the black One with positive display it actually is way better even the duplex display have a compass purpleish color wich the negative doesn't have.
If I do buy one, I would get the positive display variation; from my experience of wearing the Rangeman negative displays, the time is hard to read in low light. Where there is direct sunlight, the negative displays are easy to read.
However, I am going to wait until August for the USA release. I want to see this watch in person before I purchase a JDM watch. I want to see if I like it in person.
I made the mistake of getting my GW-9400 in the negative version. I’ll probably get this model but definitely in the positive.
Glad to see ir properly, youve just saved me a small fortune! Why are CASIOS negative displays so hit & miss?!?!
Wow, where did you get that clear bezel for the GWG2000? Looks cool. Can you make a vid about it
Knife-wise the Milwaukee Fastback range are very good folding utility knives.
i dont know..its using the protrek prw-30 modules and I think I prefer my prw-30 instead.
Definitely very nice watch...
Hello! Can I ask where you got the mods and parts for your gwg2000?😮
The negative display is not good, I will be getting the positive display model for sure...
For me this watch feels and looks like a Pro-Trek put in a G-shock case. Never had an issue reading the negative display though.
It is. Casio just milking the cow. All G-Shocks look the same. Nothing new here. Same features over and over again...
@@MrCarpen7er It's been like that for a decade now, lol.
It doesn't bother me since I'm not a collector and have no interest in ever pursuing something dumb like that, as I actually want to wear all my watches.
No carbon band? My 9300jf is so good display design is bit shitty but the band is amazing
0:32 Nice. Way to up your knife game😂 I have the older model prybid. They're good knives.
I was considering this - positive display only - then I read an article on G Central regarding this and the Casio PRO TREK PRW-3400-1JF. I decided on the latter and am very happy with my decision. The Pro Trek feels premium. The bezel rotates. I like the colorway better - got the black with the positive display which offers nice contrast. For my needs, I think the Pro Trek was a better buy and clear value proposition. To me, the MudMan is the kid brother of the Mudmaster 2000 line. I love my Mudmaster's (TLC, Desert Sand and Maha) and am looking forward to a new release soon (GWG-2000CR-1A) which I will be adding. As a collector, to me anyway, there is a tendency to want to buy them all, but I think it's important to step back and really cultivate select pieces into my collection. Btw, love that Gravitymaster and bought mine bc of your video on it - even added the full Orange one recently. Great watch. Another point and one could make an entire video on it - why do we buy multiples of the same model watch? Anyway - Keep up the great work!!
I have the Pro Trek with the negative display and it's pretty usable because it has an STN negative display. I guess they couldn't use that with this since it has a duplex. Seems like they dropped the ball on this one. I'm definitely gonna wait until it drops in price. $400 is way too much considering my Protrek was $215 and it has nearly the same functions and it feels way more premium. The resin on this looks like cheap plastic.
@@andreww1212 Pro treks can be made with nicer feeling materials, because they're not G-Shocks and can't survive the same abuse.
The resin on this GW-9500 seems solid enough, considering that Mudmasters have used similar constructions in the past, and have been known to hold up really well.
I obviously wouldn't never pay full price for one, and I'm sure it'll be on sale for a much better price later on.
Is there a non-negative display of the GW-9500?
I was thinking of t the Red one but negative display sucks ! 😢
AWESOME.... thanks!
Does it have a better function than gwg 2000
I am gonna wait for the MIP display which they are sure to release down the line
Be prepared to wait 10+ years, because Japanese companies are notoriously slow to move forward, especially when it impacts their tradition.
Nice watch
The dual lcd has come a long way, the older ProTrek 2500 has it as well as the ProTrek twin sensor of the early 80's.
Mine arrived today & I have been so worried that I might get a fake even though I paid a decent price & researched the crap out of the company I eventually went for, the tags were all in Japanese as the company I bought through was in Japan as they have a reputation for honesty & the tags are identical to the ones you were reading out so that made me feel better. The only problem I have is I'm in Australia & we don't have the multi band 6 time thing over here so I will have to google out how to set my local time manually, I'm still very happy with my watch as I will be using it outdoors a lot, we shall see how it goes.
You can try using the JJY simulator app to emit multiband 6 wave signal from you phone speaker/earphone. If you're willing to go through all that hassle though.
It's just a "gshocked" Pro Trek prw-3500, a good watch but I was expecting something more new.
Negativ is easy to read ore bezter get the positiv display ?
Nice first contact of this watch
My question is, how accurate is the compass and the other sensors like barometer or altimeter?
I've heard/read that even in the newest _G-SHOCK_ those sensors are worse than average _Pro-Trek_ models which can easily cost the half or even less...
What kind of rubbish @@StardustLegacyFighter?
Instead of criticizing what I say, are you able to refute my question?

Спасибо за обзор, отличные часы.
For the money they ask, why not use the last more pristine negative display like DW-H5600 Series or GSW-H1000 Series etc... its a shame!
Yup
That negative display is horrendous. I’ve always hated them. Cmon Casio
do not buy a negative display casio unless it is a MIP display, I learned my lesson
Awesome video man!! this is a direct clone of the ProTrek PRG-340-1JF with the dual lcd which I have so I will not be getting this one. Also I do like the Toyota Team Land Cruiser and Toyota Auto Body color...$440.00 you can also get this in positive display..
I wonder WHY there's no DEPTH meter in any new casio watches any more 😢
Just a ProTrek with a Gshock skin. Guess they were to lazy to design something.. And no MIP display. The GW-9500 is really a miss IMO.
Maybe if Casio stops with releasing 1000 Gs models per month, they have time to deliver something proper..
Could you do another side by side size comparison with the mudmaster sitting on your table…😅
There's a 'scene' in which I compare it to the Mudmaster a bit in my upcoming review video. You could kinda see the size difference there. 🙇♂️
I WISHED IF THEY MAKE POSITIVE SCREEN WITHE GREEN
Great watch but that negative display is awful,I’ll go for the positive
I was hoping for LED display, the other negative displays just suck.
@@e28forever30 no like the ones on modern smartwatches. I don't mind MIP as well, but not as great as LED.
New display, please! This old technology is barely readable except of the front view
The display is the biggest flaw. If there was MIP or STN that would be whole different story.
Essential functions of a watch 101;
Telling the time
Passerby: "Excuse me, do you happen to have the time please?"
GW-9500 owner: (Peering dimly at his negative display)
"Umm gee, I'm not sure..it could be 9:50? Or perhaps 8:40? Is that 5:45? Hang on, let me try scrying mode.."
I think ae-1500wh font looking is better than this gw-9500
Casio LISTEN carefully, the days of giving us same old basic functions for an incredibly high price is over. These types of digital watches are a thing of the past. The NEW standard is the Garmin Instict 2 solar for a tough watch that is actually readable in negative. This watch is no better or different than the GW9400 rangeman which can be had for way less and is better.
Totally agree with Casio not learning to keep with the times.
However, Garmin watches are nowhere near as tough or reliable as G-Shocks.
The GW-9400 is a super popular watch, but the build quality is the worst among the Master of G lineup, and it's not something I'd ever recommend.
MIP LCDs are way to go, but Casio is a Japanese company and the Japanese love to stick to tradition, even when they're supposed to move forward.
1. I can't do another digital. Mudmaster analog, Frog analog, everything analog...
2. negative display for my King BLACKout, my only digital Gshock. I'm in Ninja mode
3. I have a titanium coros that I use for activities......I'll pass on this mud
4. I have two mudmasters already.

Already here in the UK, should be the same for mainland Europe.

9400 stay cool... old design and tough military
@@rb2112 The resin after a few years look like shit. And they gain a lot of dirt inside. But i´m with you. I prefer resin and the old ways G-Shocks were made than these fancy bio plastic/carbon cases.
The lugs break off way too easily, it's a widely reported issue online.
At least with this Mudman, the lugs seem much more durable like the premium Mudmasters.
@@StardustLegacyFighterNot that easy. I’ve had my old 9400 for 5 years now. No problem.
@@He_isI I'm glad to hear that, but this issue is still way too common.
The Mudmaster has a superior lug design, and that's what this new Mudman uses.
GW-9500 > GW-9400 in terms of build quality, imo.
Yeah 0:04
Does it have a Mineral or Sapphire crystal?
Casio will never add a Sapphire Glass crystal at this price point, lol
Even though other watch companies have no issue with that.
Being honest it looks like parts from the Pro Trek spare parts bin and looks like you ordered it from Ali Express.
do you realize half video your watch has reflection? you do that on purpose or?
Good how you don’t recommend the negative display. People like yourselves should implore Casio to stop these awful displays. When I wanted a g shock GXW king in Britain I couldn’t get one that wasn’t positive display. I had to get one imported from Japan. No way was I putting up with a negative screen. Worst idea Casio ever had.
You're right, Casio has no clue what they're doing and is digging their own grave...sure 😂
Obviously, they sell and that's the bottom line. If they didn't, they wouldn't be putting them out. I really don't understand what is so hard about understanding that.
Those triple sensors suck. I’ve had 2 different mudmans with em and they both stopped working.
Seems like you're doing something wrong or have bad luck, because I've never seen any widespread issues about them on multiple ABC G-Shocks like the GW-9400, GWG-1000 and GWG-2000.
@@StardustLegacyFighter if you google about the triple sensors failing you’ll see it’s quite the epidemic. I’ve even taken it apart per some of the fix actions to clean it to no avail.
@@bon2198 Epidemic? Lol
Out of several thousands of units sold, there are bound to be some issues, but that doesn't make it as common as you want it to be.
I highly doubt that all of these triple sensor failures is down to a defect with the watch itself.
It could be excess dust, water or whatever abuse these watches get subjected to.
Negetive display sucks for this model
that has got to be the worse negative display I have seen on a gshock
That's a fact since the dual LCD display makes things twice as worse as single LCD displays.
Basically this watch is for someone that wants a Pro Trek with the G Shock title.
Your positioning of the watch with the constant light reflection makes it harder to have a look at the watch face than the negative display itself. Shame
help remove screen Casio Protrek dial has 3 English digits, day, date, month on the same page.
I got the negative, it’s rubbish. I took it back but g shock wants proof that there is something wrong with it. I took it back a week ago and all I’m getting is crickets.
even if there's something wrong with it, they'll still replace parts of fix, and you still get them same watch.
I regret getting this negative display one, so to make my money worth, I just use it as a fashion timepiece, beat it and modify it without remorse.
Im wrong just looked at the specs and its solar
Casio even put a 'tough solar' writing on the strap. You could also see the solar panel around the digital display.
