It's actually 60% of the oil they imported, not 60% overall just the imported oil. But even a little twist of the tap would cause fuel prices to jump. And the other side of higher fuel is transportation costs then rise and subsequent delivery of items will go up thus causing the items to rise themself. Then add the tariff prices to the items before it even reaches a truck. Talk about inflation wow.

LOL! That's percentage of the imports, not use. We import crude and export refined. We even export some of that back to Canada. We don't really need ANY imports to meet demand, if it came to that. We are more than self sufficient, but oil is a global commodity so we buy from the cheapest depending on daily markets. We import to turn around and export and turn a profit doing so in the process; we are mostly the middleman in the oil flow.

Reports don't highlight that tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China will lead to increased prices not only in those countries but also for identical products from non-tariff countries. Importers will likely take advantage of the situation by raising their prices, although they will keep them lower than the cost of goods from Canada, Mexico, and China.

America consumes the most energy Globally, especially Oil and gas. D.T just announced yesterday that he wants to double the energy production in his country. Stepping on the neck of his closest allies is probably a dumb idea, especially when your entire economy depends on foreign energy, Not to mention Canada has more lumber, more fresh water, more oil and gas than what they consume. It's the exact opposite in the US, So IMO just shut those gas pipes and see what happens. There are plenty of nations expressed their interest in Canadian Gas & oil, like Japan, Greece and others. It's time for Canada to cut the cord and start dealing with other countries, especially in the EU ! On side note: 100% of guns flow into Canada from the US and less than 1% of fentanyl seeps into the US from Canada. Canada could also join BRICS or the EU and start banning those gas-guzzling, unreliable vehicles and start selling Chinese, ICE and electric cars in Canada, like Mexico has done. That yellowhead barked at the wrong tree again. He invested billions on AI and yesterday China announced their own AI which costs less and it's smarter, called (Deepseek) , What do you know, yesterday Nvidia stocks dropped like 13%, what a shocker, and it's not the end. Oh, and that RV4 behind her is also made in Canada!

No more electricity. 25 percent of your electricity comes from Canada. That means 25 percent of all your homes and business go dark. We stop selling potash and you cant grow feed for your cows so importing feed from, not Canada, will cost a lot. We make all the aluminum you use for your beer cans so no more beer or pop cans for ya. No more cars, ya do know aluminum is very important to car manufacturing. In fact it is used everywhere. Aluminum is widely used in the United States for a variety of applications, including transportation (automobiles, airplanes, trucks, railcars, marine vessels, etc.), packaging (cans, foil, etc.), construction (windows, doors, siding, etc.), consumer durables (appliances, cooking utensils, etc.), electrical transmission lines, machinery, and many other applications.
Should be fun to be an American. We know we are going to hurt from your tariffs, but I don't think you realize how ugly it will get for Americans.
Also, for what reason? there is less than one percent of the fentanyl coming in to the states from Canada. More people arrive in the states from planes and overstay their visa than cross on the land border. We have a 4 thousand kilometer border. What do you expect us to do. You have a tiny border down south and you all can't control that. We have way more Mexicans crossing into Canada from the American border than go the other way. So you guys are the problem.

    Things to ponder:
The U.S. is Canada’s largest trading partner, American consumers, businesses, and industries benefit from Canadian goods-such as raw materials, lumber, and other natural resources-that are integral to the U.S. economy. The trade relationship is EXTREMELY beneficial, for Canada with U.S. demand supporting Canadian industries
The U.S. imports a significant amount of oil and gas from Canada because Canada is a stable, reliable neighbor; HOWEVER the U.S. is increasingly self-sufficient in energy, maintaining a healthy energy trade relationship with the United States is essential for national security and economic stability for Canada
    What is Trudeau possibly thinking:
*100% tariffs on Tesla, US dairy, etc
*Possible stimulus (this after Canadian banks raised the inflation higher for the year to 2.3% and HAS NOT accounted for the US tariffs.

DON the CON-ARTIST is the reincarnation of PT Barnum, who was an American showman, businessman, and politician remembered for promoting celebrated hoaxes and founding the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Moreover, like trump, he said of himself: "I am a showman by profession and all the gilding shall make nothing else of me." According to Barnum's critics, his personal aim was "to put money in his own coffers".
"There's a sucker born every minute!" SOUND FAMILIAR?! 😂
Speaking of a sucker born every minute: The irony of MAGA is, the MAGAOTS are the ignorant fools that will pay for 'DON the CON-ARTIST's tariffs whenever they shop at Bass ProShop, Dollar Stores, Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Lowe's, Northern Tool, Tractor Supply, Target, etc!
As the proverbial saying goes: "Fool You once. Shame on them. Fool you TWICE. SHAME ON YOU!" 😂
    "Making America Go Away!"

Oh for crying out loud Americans! or at least 50% of you, educate yourselves! Our border is secure, Trump is lying about our border being a major source of illegal immigrants, fentanyl, alien space baby invaders etc. Your problem is the Mexican border, not the Canadian one. Also, if the stuff gets in anywhere aren't YOUR border guard supposed to be stopping it? The last statistic I saw said that 20kg of fentanyl entered the US from Canada (that is from your own UCBP) and 9000kg from Mexico. You are attacking and insulting the best friend US has because of Trump. A lot of you really can't figure out that your President wouldn't know the truth if it ran him over.

    • @sticklerforchange
      @sticklerforchange 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

It is so much easier to make loud proclamations that you are doing what you can to stop Fentanyl or other drugs from entering your country than to spend money dealing with the issues that are causing people to become addicts in the first place. And this is not just the politicians in the U.S., it is politicians in most countries. Poverty, mental health, rehab centers, etc., are more difficult problems and more expensive problems to address, and so for the most part they are not. But the law of supply and demand will always apply, if people persist on using drugs, drugs will find a way to find them.

That's an excuse. 0.2% of the fentanyl in the US came across the Canadian border.
"Why do Americans demand so much fentanyl?" is the question you should be asking. In fact, every single Drug is always in high demand from the US. Why is it the Suppliers fault?

    >The United States used to be a manufacturing country. Since the end of the Second World War this changed from a manufacturing center to a consumer center. All governments since the end of that conflict have been increasing the national debt, all of which has devalued the US dollar to the point where, today, a US dollar is worth about three cents, yes three cents, compared with a 1971 US dollar. So, today all the consuming US public is consuming with devalued dollars, hence, the increase in the sticker price of all goods and services. We simply need more of these devalued dollars to buy anything.
    >The plan by the current US government to install these tariffs is a distraction from the real problem which is the US debt and the devalued US dollar. Currently, the US debt to GDP ratio is well over 100% and so the only way to get this ratio down is either to pay down the debt or to increase the productivity of the nation. The former is out of the question; the second option will take maybe twenty to thirty years. The latter is not unrealistic since it really took over forty years to create this problem in the first place.
