    THEORY: The Armorer is Din Djarin’s adopted mother, and that’s why she looked away when she said “…just as your teacher did for you.” She was getting emotional, realizing her son was finally truly leaving the nest. And also the way she said “This is the way” when he said he would adopt Grogu. He’s doing for Grogu what The Armorer did for him.

    I love that Din has gone back to being that "gun for hire" by the end of this season. He went on a journey of literally thinking of Grogu as just another job, realizing he needed to do something about it, taking him under his wing, and now adopting him as his own son. Finally a GOOD FATHER in Star Wars as a main character. Plus the iris wipe was just so charming at the end.
    I appreciate your reactions in taking the story as presented. People get too caught up in their own expectations that they only end up disappointed wanting the story they played in their own minds. People were too busy looking at the individual episodes without realizing the main focus of the whole season. I think they did a great job of not only establishing the issues with the New Republic and its shortcomings, but also the rebirth of Mandalore and people overcoming their past failures. The willingness to change from the past was such a strong theme throughout this season, and I feel the payoff in the end was well deserved.

    13:35 - This was my exact reaction! I low key love that Bo has become Grogu's mom figure this season. Bo and Din Djarin don't even have to be romantically involved. The fact that they respect each other so much and both adore this kiddo is enough for me. And Grogu obviously loves them both.

    As a huge Rebels Fan I will always look for Rebels-Connections in every new piece of StarWars (which is surprisingly easy because I think right now Rebels is the most important show for new canon and therefore referenced a lot). Here are my two favorites from this episode:
    1. The Green Cave. It actually made me quite emotional because I remembered Sabine talking to Ezra while they were fighting on Mandalore and how she never saw her planet green because of all the wars that started before she was even born (mostly between Mandalorians themselves). And now look at it: Mandalorians fighting together and the first signs of Plants returning to Mandalore. I think the moment Sabine see's this she will be very happy (but we don't know if she is still on Lothal or traveling through the Galaxy looking for Ezra right now so we don't know if she will actually hear about it)
    2. How Grogu protects Din and Bo-Katan since he uses the same Force-Power as Kanan uses when he saves his new family but must sacrifice himself to do so. Of course, the question now is: Is Grogu already more powerful than a Jedi like Kanan. I would say NO, because he first of all did the protection way smaller (he had to protect two people who were crouching while Kanan had to protect an entire ship) but also because this was only an explosion coming from one direction while Kanan literally held of an entire Fuel-Depot exploding in order to save the Ghost-Crew (and with some of his energy even holding Hera back). Still, the fact that Grogu could do that at this young of an age (for his species) is very telling that he is a powerful force-user indeed.

    • @lightdarksoul2097
      @lightdarksoul2097 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kanan I feel was one of the strongest Jedi by the end of his life. Maybe not in power but in understanding the force itself. He was very unsure of himself and his teachings especially in comparing himself to Ashoka and Maul but he kept facing the insecurities and came out each time stronger. The Force even seem to respect him by giving him the ability to see again at the end

    • @latech7671
      @latech7671 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lightdarksoul2097 I think Kanan was very in tune with the cosmic force at the end of Rebels, somewhat because he learned a lot while teaching Ezra, somewhat because he was forced to after going blind.
      I however think he never got to grips with the living force as well, especially not as well as Ezra who honestly might be the most connected Jedi I have seen when it comes to the living force.
      The thing is during the height of the Jedi Order I think they sometimes actually forgot the living force even existed and focused all their power on the cosmic force (it is the one you see powerful results from the fastest) and because of that I don't think Kanan has quite the chance to touch some of the best (even at the end of Rebels). Some of those Jedi during the orders best times had nothing else to worry about but connecting to the force.
      The moment he sacrifices himself I think he is in a unique position giving him extra power as he for one is very in tune with the force and in my opinion even backed up by the "force of Lothal", as I see every location in the Galaxy having their own manifestations of the force keeping balance (Bendu, Loth-Wolfes, maybe the Mythosaur, ...) and I think the force connected to Kanan though the Wolves to bring balance to the fallen World of Lothal. But that is all just my theory and there sure are some big holes to fill, some of them hopefully by the Ahsoka-Show

    You're so right about us playing ourselves. Love that, after all the speculation, they just stripped it all down to Classic SW Fun and melodrama. Who's gonna show up? No one. Who's gonna be the big dramatic death? No one. Who's 'the spy'? No one. And 'the return'? So many of 'em -- Mandos to Mandalore, DD back to Nevarro, Ragnar to his baptism, Gideon's ship, IG. All tied up in a neat little Bo. Andove that this gives us another tripartite climax to go with Naboo and Endor, only in this one all the three parts coalesce in the end, really emphasizing the 'stronger together' difference of the Warrior Way from the individual spiritual testing of the Jedi. And I love the contrast of our Trio bringing all the pieces together voluntarily while maintaining their unique integrity versus Gideon trying to forcibly integrate the disparate elements in -- and in subservience to -- himself. Our Trio (they're my new post-Jedi Trio, the redeemed Gunslinger, the holds-her-own Princess and the Jedi, since we're never getting the Original back together proper) is thus blessed by The Force while Gideon remains impotent and envious, poor bastard.
    Favorite stupid, completely insignificant trivial details (honestly can't tell whether they're coincidental or not): DD is basically Batman by the end of this chapter, working off-the-books with Carson Teva aka Gordon, and just like Batman, there's a B. Wayne inside the suit, Brendan Wayne instead of Bruce. And a common joke during this chapter was the Wickalorian and stuff like that, but there actually is a K. Reeves in the ep., Koska Reeves instead of Keanu. They both seem like totally stupid coincidences, but at the same time, they've gotta be in-jokes or something, right?

    You commented on it and were spot onto the spies being the mandalorian scouts. After watching your breakdown, it made sense and I was hoping against hope that you were right. I am so glad no one was lost and that no one was betrayed. I am a Bodin shipper so I wished there was more of that but I also understand that he can’t stay long term right now and she can’t leave. At the very least they are all alive and rebuilding. I’m hoping to see a bit of them in the Ashoka series since we know now that Din is going to be hunting the remnants down and the Mandalorians are def going to be a big threat to the empire. It is all intertwined and I love it!

    I like that they allowed the show to reset hard to a serialized father-son adventure story but didn’t commit to anything. They can continue the show from here if they want (in a year, in five years, in ten years, whatever) or the show can just be over forever if they want. I don’t think they’ll end it, but they might (and just have the Dins show up in other shows and movies in the time period) and now they’re set up so they have all those options on the table. Good stuff.

    If Bo Katan turns out to be an allegory of Moses (which I regret not seeing myself I've been seeing biblical elements all over the show this season) that could mean some interesting things going forward for her character. He leads the people out of slavery and into the desert and helped govern them as well as establishing the commandments. But Moses himself never gets to set foot in the promise land. The question now is have they set foot now into the proverbial promised land of Mandalore or though they are united are they still in the desert. Bo katan has her work cut out for her either way settling disputes among the tribes and establishing order but we may see another Mandalor take the throne in the not so distant future.

      @@Psyque-nl4xn totally possible just because she may be an allegory for Moses doesn't mean she has to copy every story beat, maybe in another sense she lead the Mandalorians into the metaphorical desert back in the purge and now she has basically become a new person ready to bring the Mandalorians to the promise land. That's the fun of this type of speculation.

    You were right about so many things, especially when you pointed out that Grogu is becoming naturally what Gideon was so desperate to manufacture artificially. The things I really loved was that Din, Grogu and Bo worked together to take out Gideon, I actually loved that they broke the Dark Saber because they don’t need it, I love how Grogu didn’t revert to the dark side of the force once, I love that Mandalore can been green again, and I love how the armourer had emotion in her voice when she said the word “teacher”. I think she might have been Dins teacher. It was a lovely ending and I have really enjoyed all your reviews

    That's why I love your reactions, you remember the most important rule of Star Wars: Star Wars is fun! Everybody is an "expert" now and is so critical about anything in the show, its surprising they haven't made a theory about Bo Katan's perfect helmet hair lol. This show is just a big fun adventure in the Star Wars universe about Din and Grogu, and how they became involved in bigger things. and sure, not everything has to be a 10, but this is a fun show that I'm really happy we have around.

    Overall, this finale was awesome and there is so much to love! The biggest takeaway of the finale for me was Moff Gideon actually being more capable than we all thought. The one critique of S2 that I had was his fight with Din where I expected him to be more of a formidable opponent to Din than what ended up happening. But my man was kicking his ass and Bo’s pretty much and I have to say it was so satisfying to see him as more capable. I hope to god he isn’t dead because I wanted to see a Gideon and Thrawn rivalry so hopefully one of his clones survived and I feel like it’s a waste to kill to him now.
    Regardless, overall S3 was pretty great, the weakest season compared to the other two yes, but still a damn good season, especially in regards to my favorite Mandalorian Bo-Katan’s journey, that was the strongest aspect of the season for me. 💙 Season overall gets a strong B+ from me, and the episode a B+ or an A- as well.

    You know why I like your channel? You're one of the few people out there whose commentary is informed, thoughtful, intelligent and insightful. You don't let your expectations about the show cloud how you feel about each episode either. And even if people disagree with you, you're not nasty about it. I've seen reactors be downright nasty and salty when commenters don't agree with their thoughts on episodes, especially this season. So I appreciate you for that. You're also open to others' opinions which is rare these days.
