    I have stage 2 breast cancer et and started chemo/immune therapy last week. I bit the bullet and shaved my hair off with my children 2 days later as couldn’t bare the thought of it coming out in clumps. It gave me control of the situation as felt like everything was out of my hands at this point. It actually was liberating like a new butterfly emerging. Love to all the survivors and anyone battling this right now 😢

    Thanks for sharing this video and the photos are very helpful . I have long silvery hair that took years to grow out and now I’m about to loose it once chemo starts and I don’t know why I’m having such a hard time with it ? Having one breast removed didn’t bother me as much I do plan on purchasing a wig much like my own hair but now that I see how good you looked bald 😀I will wear the wig outside of the house . I think like you I’ll start short ,maybe the Princess Di style ? thanks again

    Mine is falling out today two weeks after my first chemo. My husband is so supportive he said it’s ok if you cry, it’s very normal. He loves me no matter what. My stylist friend cut my long locks into a darling shag cut that looked so cute. My husband will buz my hair with a Wahl and a #2 as I heard it feels better and then use a sticky clothes roller.

    I am waiting to see if I need chemo. I might not but pretty I am likely to. I wonder how uncomfortable a wig will be. I want to keep my chemo to just close family. Chemo makes privacy hard. Is it better to keep cancer private or just come out with it?

    My hair lasted until the third week of chemotherapy. I was detangling my hair in the shower and it came out. Every time I went to touch my hair, it kept falling out in clumps. I was mortified, so I bought a wig and shaved it all. I can't stand to look at myself in the mirror right now. I wish I had your perspective, because I don't see myself in the mirror anymore.

    Rewatched this as I’m getting weekly Paclitaxal & wanted to get your timeline again. Had that moment of “oh boy, it’s starting” yesterday. Just one day shy of 2 weeks & my 3rd Taxal. Next week is the start of my 2nd cycle, 3 drugs, Pembro, Taxal & Carbo, followed by weekly Taxal. I’ve still wear my hair long & debating of getting it cut short before I decide it’s time to shave it off, even if that’s in a few weeks.

    • @ChelseyTarnow
      @ChelseyTarnow  ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope that your chemo yesterday went well🙏, one more down👊! It's so hard to know what do to with your hair as it begins to thin. I did have fun with trying different styles as I went shorter, but that process isn't for everyone. Do what feels right to you❤. Sending love

      @@suzymoon2067 I did opt for a short haircut to transition while it thinned to being bald. It’s thinning so fast I’m not going to bother to shave it, just let it continue to fall out. Most days I wear my chemo caps & now have a wig as an option too.
