  • The Seven Churches is a monastic site on the island of Inishmore off the west coast of Ireland. This medieval site dates back to the 7th century. Despite the name, there are only two churches here surround by an ancient graveyard. Let's take a look into life in medieval times.

I think this would have been just as good without the frightening suspense music! And you missed an opportunity to make this much more meaningful to the viewer! You should have read some of the inscriptions on the stones which were plainly still visible but hard to read in the 2 dimensions of TV! You should have read some and maybe we could have followed along. Thiink of the life stories that could have been told. Sad that the person narrating didn't think of this!

The music was too distracting, and you did'nt stop so we could read the most clear of inscriptions. I sat here with varifocal spectacles on and a large magnifying glass, but every time I thought you would stop you walked on by. I know there were a lot of stones we had no chance of reading, but you can tell by their condition they were extremely old. Try and stop face on so we can read the stones, the inscriptions are the most important part for me as they tell me who the person was, when they were born and passed away, they tell us the story of their lives and it is sad that they are forgotten.

You know most of those gravestones are factory made ones from about 1900. The oldest I saw there was 1793 in the church. The spooky looking mossy ones are like 1910ish. It's Western Ireland, so yopu know if they had lead letters and English, they can't be that old.
