Art Institute was my son’s school- but he went to Florida, are there any assistance with that please?
I was misled by DeVry and applied for BDTR in 2018. I have 16 loans in default because they capped my loans at $50k right before my senior year despite being on the Dean’s List every semester (and promising me my loans would carry me to graduation and I’d have a job in the gaming industry within 6 months after graduating). DeVry ruined my chance at any completed education and career.
MY QUESTIONS: We were paying little by little while I was in school. I just got a government check for just under $1000 from the department of education.
1) Does this mean my application was approved?
On the federal student aid website, it still says my loans are in default and my application from 2018 is still saying “in review”.
2) What does that check mean? Is that the only relief I’m getting??
3) Will my loans go away within the 12 months like the email from the DOE I got last year promised (if my loans are forgiven in full)?
4) I’ve received $500 in the past from a different class action lawsuit against DeVry specifically (which is a joke against my now $75k in defaulted loans). Does this hurt me?
5) Is your assistance only for California residents? I’m in Texas and I attended DeVry University Online (based in Illinois).
What do you mean when you say "full settlement relief" regarding Sweet v. Cardona?
I need a Forbearance application? Or help with one online
