You must have been there at slack tide to not be using any weight. Throw a can of Old Bay or Paul Prudhomme's blackened redfish seasoning in your truck....good stuff on the fillets!
I've got the itch for them convicts. I watched your video from weedon island. And now that place is my go to. Got me a kayak and I cruise the mangroves for tree crabs.

Crabs by the pillars will do
notice how he is far from the waters edge? In clear shallow water you can see them easily, BUT They can see you! scout carefully locate them and remain out of site. You also have to anticipate the bite a bit because of the way they hit. Use light fluorocarbon leader no swivel line to line or no leader at all. Sharp thin hook. Crabs Clams oysters and sand fleas
